This was, by far, our best hotel stay EVER! From the beautiful room to the kind and attentive staff, this hotel is a solid 10/10, no questions asked. The amenities of the highest quality Breakfast was an unforgettable culinary experience. The setting was superb, and the chef’s kindness and professionalism made the experience truly exceptional. The location is also excellent, just a short walk from Kyoto Station. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We made a dinner reservation only a couple of weeks before arriving which was confirmed quickly. The dinner was an intimate and fun experience with the staff that served us, with delicious food, one of our best nights in the whole trip. The outdoor tub was perfect size and so relaxing. The breakfast was very filling and again, served very kindly by the staff. The staff from start to finish were attentive, friendly and welcoming - they also spent time getting to know us, giving us recommendations for good food around the citylook forward to coming back here in the future and bringing others with us.

The only thing was the price, but the experience was well worth it.

The property was beautiful with a historical aesthetic but modern touches that made it inviting and comfortable at the same time. I personally love woodworking and the craftsmanship you see in the structure was a sight to behold. The room itself was probably the best I’ve ever stayed in, the first floor was quiet and intimate, the second floor was grand and beautiful. The service was immaculate and extremely considerate. The staff went above and beyond to help me plan my proposal and made sure it went smoothly. And to top it all off, it is across the street from one of the most beautiful temples in Kyoto. Do yourself a favor and plan a stay at this location! Thank Yuka for making the stay one of the most memorable for us!

What a fantastic experience all around! The room was beautiful. Staff were kind, polite, and attended to every request. The breakfast and dinner was delicious and carefully cooked over a personal grill at each table right in front of us while we ate. Free snacks and drinks available in the lounge. We chatted with Kurumi while she cooked us dinner and she was such a sweetheart, then the next day she left us a hand written card congratulating us on our honeymoon with her personal recommendations for places to visit in Tokyo. It was so nice! Location was great. 10 minute walk from the station. It's across the street from a massive and beautiful temple and just a couple blocks from the nicest park and garden I've seen so far in Japan.

Price is too high, in particular if we compare it with the level of service you should expect from that high price. In fact, emploeeya were all very nice and cordial but not properly trained as one may expect (all around 20 years old). Also, when we asked something outside normal routine they provided negative or contractdictory answers

We booked the evening meal as well as the breakfast - no need to do both. So very full from the night before (as the meal was huge!), we didn't really appreciate the breakfast.

Our stay at Nazuna Kyoto Higashi Honganji was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled with such care and attention to detail. The room was absolutely stunning—beautifully designed with a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort, and incredibly spacious, which is such a luxury in Kyoto. One of the highlights for us was the outdoor hot tub. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the city. Sitting in the warm water, surrounded by the serene ambiance of the ryokan, felt like a dream. It added such a special, relaxing touch to our stay. What really set Nazuna apart, though, was the exceptional staff. Everyone we met was kind, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive. On our last day, they surprised us with a thoughtful leaving gift tailored to our personal tastes—something we absolutely didn’t expect but truly appreciated. It was such a meaningful gesture and made us feel incredibly cared for. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already talking about when we can return. The AC in our was a bit noisy. My wife and I were light sleepers so we turned it off but the room got cold in the middle of the night. So we turned on the AC and slept with the little noise. It would be better if the noise of the AC could be fixed.

The staffs are really welcoming and the room design is pretty unique. We had a great time in thus hotel.

The most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed in. Luxurious and welcoming. We arrived and were treated to a drink and seasonal snack while the room was explained. We were then given a tour of our rooms and how to use the amenities (private onsen as well). Everything was included in our stay (mini bars as well) and we had a traditional breakfast. The staff, location and hotel were exceptional.
