Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe water in the bathroom got VERY hot very quickly. Maybe you should stick a warning sign next to the faucet, because you don't expect such hot water and you can hurt yourself quickly. I would also like to see the tea cups packaged without plastic, you should be a little more mindful of your plastic consumption, and tea cups packaged in plastic make no sense to me.
I liked the stay very much. The hotel is very close to the train station, so the location is great. The staff was super nice (but I'm not sure if you could have been understood in English). My room was bigger than I expected, also it was very clean. One had everything one needed.

AustraliaYamagata station and bus to Zao Onsen are very close as are shops and excellent restaurants. The staff had very little English but were very accommodating and allowed us to store our luggage after checking out.

Malaysia1. No bottled water. Tried using water from the tap in the shower but it's quite milky so I'm not comfortable drinking it ( even after boiling ), but that's just me 2. The tv and a processor taking up unnecessary space on the dressing table 3. The only power outlet is behind the TV 4. The canned drink I put in the fridge wasn't chilled even after one day. 5. The toilet seat doesn't come equipped with bidet
1. Value for money. Honestly can't get any better than this. Private room with bath. Additional 880 yen if you want breakfast. 2. Excellent location. Less than 10 minutes walk to Yamagata station. 3. Warm and friendly staff. Hair dryer was provided upon check in. I was able to store my backpack after check-out. They also offer to change the towel daily, and when I declined they kindly informed me that it is free of charge :) Still not needed as I'm just staying for two nights. 4. Wifi works well. Shower was great, and since there's a little bath, you could soak the fatigue away as well. Hot and cold water is easy to control which is very important especially in cold weather. 5. Mini stove to boil water available in the room as well. There's also a full length mirror and sufficient hangers for one guest. 6. The switch for the lights is at the head board of the bed, and easy to use. 7. There's a lift so you don't need to carry your luggage up the stairs

CanadaThe hotel is very dated with stains on the carpets and old fixtures.
Staff was very friendly during check in and check out. The hotel is very close to the trains and bus station, it made travel very simple and quick. The beds and bathroom were very clean, and the view of the mountains was very pretty from our room!
