We had a wonderful stay at Unazuki Onsen Yamanoha. The **staff were extremely polite, helpful, and explained all the available facilities in detail**, which made us feel very welcomed from the start. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a spectacular view of the Kurobe Gorge and its iconic red bridge— truly a highlight of our stay. It provided a peaceful and scenic atmosphere, perfect for relaxing as a family. The onsen was comfortable and enjoyable, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploration. The location is excellent, just a short 5-minute walk from Unazuki Onsen Station, which made it very convenient for us. We especially loved the dinner buffet — it offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, while the breakfast was good as well. An added highlight was the sightseeing train ride through the Kurobe Gorge, which was a fun and memorable experience for the kids. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we return to Japan. Highly recommended for families!

Very minor things, but they charge money for their massage chair. The children play area small amount so it seems not critical, but in the other resort that we have all that was included, and it felt a bit more generous as I said fairly minor thing.

Great location very nice on scene. Good buffet dinner. Wonderful views from the windows of the gorge, the mountain and the forest.

The futon beds were abit too thin, and it was uncomfortable to sleep in as a side sleeper.

The breakfast and dinner was very good with lots of variety. The onsens and rooms were also great with amazing views.

Close to Unazukionsen Station. The staff were friendly and even though the station was so close the staff kindly offered to drive us to the station without any booking required. We were very impressed by their service. The buffet dinner and breakfast was great and had a lot of variety. During dinner the staff set up the futon beds for you which was also comfortable.

Everything was perfect about this property! Rooms were super nice and clean. Location was just within a short distance from the station. Staffs were super nice. Can’t complain about anything! This has been our best stay in Japan

Absolutely beautiful location - stunning at winter time with icicles everywhere. Beds comfortable. The toilet lid pops up automatically when you open the door and auto flushes as well. Private onsen can be booked and was wonderful. Rooms are large biggest of our stay in Japan. Would have loved to have spent more time here. Located about 200m from the train station but they have a shuttle to pick you up with your baggage

It is not property’s fault, but we fell on stinky bugs season and that was a nightmare. Check well when this is expected and change your plans, if you are going to visit during this period.

The daily swap to use only one of the two onsens was confusing. Also the area where the hotel is located is very quiet, except for the tourist train which unfortunately has scaled down operations due to the floods in early 2024.

The room and onsen were good. The meals are buffets rather than set menu, this is my first experience of this in the many onsens that I have visited - but I guess it was done to save manpower.

It wasn’t clear that half board including dinner was also buffet style. I was expecting kaiseki. But the buffet had a good spread of cuisine . It’s a onsen town without a lot of commercial shops or activities, other than the tram into the valley

Good size public onsen - swapping between female and male morning vs night. Beautiful view of the bridge in the outdoor pool.
