Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndonesiaNeed to walk a bit for stores and restaurants. The walls are quite thin so we need to lower our voice even in our room.
It feels like having a sleepover at a friend’s place. The place is super homey. The staff were really nice, for such a small place they have everything that I need. They even have a bicycle rental. The neighborhood is very quiet and clean, as it’s in the residential area you can see how the locals go about their everyday. There’s a really good wagashi shop near the place. You get discount voucher for the nearby onsen too included with your stay.

United KingdomOnly stayed overnight so I didn't use the facilities much, but everything was in excellent condition. Communal spaces were clean and my room was just as in the pictures. It's a cosy guesthouse, there are no combini/shops in the immediate surroundings but it takes about 15mins by foot tp get to a very lively area with shops and restaurants, I had no problem eating out after 9pm on a weekday.

CanadaNot much. Location is a bit of a walk from supermarkets or convenient stores, but if you're sightseeing, you can easily route that with a bus pass.
Very affordable, with reasonable laundry facilities. Good for multiple day stays in Tottori.

JapanI didn't want to open the curtains since it's in the first floor. I didn't care too much, but others might: very hard beds. Almost like lying on the wood of the bunk beds. About their stability I'm not sure since I was alone. It might have gotten tight with four people and everyone's luggage
Friendly staff and rooms with the light colours used for the inferior design. Clean!

SwedenThe beds were not particularly comfortable, and our room had a window right by the front entrance. This meant that anytime someone went out to smoke it would drift into our room and make the place smell like cigarettes. This also meant that we were woken up on occasion by people talking outside. If you are not very good at basic japanese it might not be a good choice for you. The staff spoke mainly japanese as did the other guests staying here. It wasn't an issue for us, and we did not expect them to accomadate us in English because Tottori is not a metropolis like Tokyo, but just something to keep in mind!
Nice spot easy to find in the city. We were in Tottori to check out some of the nature and to see the sand dunes. It was a decent location and suited us fine for the short time that we were in the area.

SwitzerlandThe bunk beds in our room had only a thin futon as mattress. As we are foreigners, we weren't used to it and it was like sleeping on the ground. But everything else was fine, so we didn't want to complain. For the cheap price it was fine for us. But maybe it would be good to mention it in the room's description on Booking.
It is a very cute and modern guesthouse. The common areas (kitchen, living room, bathroom) were well organised and clean. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. We got all amenities we needed (towel, hairdryer, etc.). We were only 2 people but got a 4-person-bedroom for our own. The room had enough light, we could open the window to get fresh air and we had even a desk. Thank you very much for welcoming us in your guesthouse!

SwedenIf I new ot was this nice, I would have stayed two nights.
We loved everithing about this place. The house is even nicer and the rooms even larger than on the pictures. Equipped with ebrrything one might need. And the owner is super kind and helpful. Super location with walking distance to the train station (ca 15 min), in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We rented two bikes, got e-bikes top quality for 1000 yen/pers/day which made it possible for us to see the castle ruins and the dunes the same evening as we arrived. Next day we took our luggage to the train station where they had lockers and went on to Oiwa station, walk 30 min through wonderful rice fields to Iwami and took a boat cruise to Uradome Geo Park, did a hike in Ajiro afterwards and then direct bus towards Tottori with a stop at the East entrance to the dunes, where we went down to swim at the beach. Took next buss to Tottori station, where we left our luggage. The area is totally worth several days, but with the above itinerary, it is managable within 24 hours as well.
