I’ve stayed in many places in Hokkaido, Gurugulu is by far the best. Amazing space, very warm and welcoming. Very friendly couple running the lodge. Incredible, peaceful scenery.

The downside of the tranquillity is that there is a bit of driving required, which means that whoever is planning to stay st gurugulu must factor in a car.

Satoru and Tae San were excellent hosts and very hospitable. They truly made us feel at home. When we asked about where to put our snow equipment, Satoru kindly made a rack outside overnight. Both of them joined us for dinner one night, which helped us feel totally at ease. Gurugulu was a haven of tranquillity with a fantastic view of Mt Yotei. Suitable for a family or a group of friends. Definitely will recommend to all my friends and family.

    Nothing

Everything! The location was perfect for driving to all of the resorts we wanted to visit but also close enough to Kutchan and Niseko for a short drive to ski and eat etc. The accommodation was perfectly clean and really large. Plenty of space for 7 adults and great facilities like a kitchen downstairs. The hosts were amazing, could not of been more helpful. They were always on hand to help and answer any questions. We opted in for breakfast a couple of mornings and dinner and both were delicious and very good value for money. We wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the other activities like snow showing etc.

Nothing at all - My only regret was not staying longer.

We are a big group and we were most delighted that there were toilet and shower on each floor. The host Satoru-san had provided little touches like a kettle in each room with cups, coffee and tea bags. These shows how much considerations were given to ensure the comfort of guests. The shower and toilets are very clean and cosy. Beds were comfortable and there were USB charging ports on the wooden bed frames! He prepared a very lovely breakfast with fresh ingredients and organic farm eggs and the jam was great. I particularly appreciate the fresh fruit juice and the coffee machine. Could not have ask for more - a great breakfast to start the day. If out objectives were not to go skiing, I could have stay cuddled in front of the cosy fireplace with an aromatic cup of coffee the whole day. That's how much we love the place. The host Satoru-san and his wife speaks good English and were the most welcoming host we had throughout our entire trip. Highly recommended.
