Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThis place was the perfect stopover for my partner and I as we biked the Shimanami route. It was about halfway between Imabari and Onimichi so was perfect. It’s a little tucked away from the main road so not obvious to find at first, although google maps helped us locate it easily. Once there, we were blown away by how clean and comfortable the facilities were. We stayed in the bunk bed room as it was the only one available, but were perfectly comfortable, especially with all of the open shared space available just outside of our room. All amenities are provided. The place is spotless, even with cyclists coming through. The staff were very kind and helpful and booked us a reservation for dinner which ended up being a delicious traditional Japanese meal that was only a 15 minute bike ride away (be warned that there are not a lot of dinner options in the area, but there is also a 24 hour family mart open nearby). Highly recommend this stay!

NetherlandsWe went here as a stopover during our cycle of the shiminami kaido route, since it is around the half way mark. there was only one other group of guests staying at the moment, so it felt like we had the place to our selves. Al the rooms are in a really beautiful wooden house, and everything was comfortable and clean. If you want to cycle the route in two days, I would really recommend this place.

SingaporeI thought the price was a little expensive.
Very clean, comfortable, host was friendly, location was good, there was a covered area to park bicycles, a room with monitors to work in, a shared kitchen and bathroom with amenities.

United KingdomSuper comfy bed. Shared kitchen facilities were ultra clean and well equipped. There was free laundry which was great post rainy cycling. Location was nice on a quiet part of the island but just off the main road/cycling route. 15mins walk to the bus stop. But no shops/restaurants nearby so need to come prepared with some food.

Czech RepublicWOW! This place is wonderful! One of the most beautiful places I've stayed during my month in Japan. I am only sorry I had just one night, would like to stay longer. Easy to find, all necessary amenities, fully equiped kitchen with traditional ceramics dishes and all electronic appliances you could imagine. AC heates the room well. Shower quite big. Everything spotlessly clean. Emergency food available, since there are probably no shops nearby. Drinks too. Tea & good coffee for free. Boardgames available. The house is designed in an old traditonal japanese style with tatami floors. I was amazed. It looks even much better than on the photos. The staff speaks english, which can be quite useful after an exhausting day on the bike :)

RussiaA little bit pricey, but in the end it is worth it.
The place is conveniently situated right in the middle of the shimanami bike trail. It’s perfect for a night rest.

United StatesSituated almost exactly at the halfway point of the Shimanami Kaido, this property is the perfect rest stop! Kai, who greeted us and showed us our room, graciously helped us throughout our stay. He found me a multi-tool to tighten my bike saddle post and also helped me ship luggage last minute. The property is thoughtfully renovated equipped with rooms with comfy bunk-bed set ups and comfortably-large shared bathroom, kitchen, and living areas.

SpainI’ve been travelling across Japan for over a month and could finally unwind at Omishima Space Omoya. It is a well-restored traditional house in a peaceful location, with superb amenities and a great vibe. My room was rather small but comfortable, and that night I got the common areas all to myself. The staff also provides a couple of electric bicycles free of charge on the first-come-first-served-basis, and I really enjoyed cycling the island. This accommodation is perfect for both holidays and workations.

ItalyI liked everything.
The place is BEAUTIFUL. They really did a good job rebuilding a Japanese traditional style home which is also quite modern at the same time. Common areas and the rooms are well taken care of. Everything was perfectly clean and both the bathrooms and the kitchen are fully furnished and very comfortable to use. The staff is also very helpful when needed, even if they might not be at the reception all the time.

SingaporeOnly real complaint is that the mattresses provided are thin, so the feel when you lie down is quite hard. I found this to be very odd given that the comforter/duvet/blanket they provide is very thick and comfortable. Would also suggest that parking space for the bikes be kept in a more separate area. It was slightly inconvenient to move/store the bikes while trying not to bother people who were resting. Still a good space overall!
The owners of the property are very helpful and attentive and were keen to ensure that I was able to check-in with ease. The rooms and living/shared areas are clean. The environment is also very quiet which is very helpful if you are recovering from a long bike ride. The owners are also very upfront about the fact that there are little to no food options in the area, and were also helpful in providing possible food options and letting me know which of those food options were too far for that time of the day. Overall, the location is a very good rest point if you are doing the Shimanami Kaido as it is roughly just past the halfway mark.

SingaporeThe location was slightly hard to find on google maps. Noted that it was an old house and an insect came into the house. There was poor lighting outside the house, when using the washing machine (and it was very dark outside).
It was very comfortable stay, clean, and with essential facilities. The ambience was very nice, like an authentic Japanese traditional home.
