- the staff: unflexible, unhelpful. The fact that they do not (except the facilities manager) speak English did not help - machine check-in (which did not work with foreign passports), but then the machine still allocates you a room; if you request a higher floor, you are told that the machine decides. no change possible. HAL? - you have to order a taxi yourself (not cheap with a non-Japanese phone) - parking: every time you re-enter/leave, you have to pay 1000yen. There are some (but not many) paid parking options in the area, if your car is small enough - location: far from everything, even the closest convenience store is 5-10 min walk away I left after the first of the two night I had booked (and paid)

Location is a little away from the centre. But iI enjoyed the stay and will stay again.

Double room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and separate toilet. Public bath was nice and clean with indoor and outdoor areas. Free cold drinks offered were refreshing.

The sound insulation is not good, can hear the crying of children in other rooms. Entrance space too small. Not enough clothes hanging space in the room. Not much vacancy for the transportation service to the Sunday market. No transportation service to the shopping street. Two elevators are not enough for a 22 floor hotel.

The staff was incredibly friendly from the receptionist to the restaurant staff to the parking attendant; they all made us feel welcomed! The dinner was super delicious and we recommend it highly (well worth the price)! The room was clean, comfortable and spacious (the A/C worked great too)! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Parking fee per night applies and the carpark is a little hard to find (you have to turn behind the hotel and look for the parking attendant).

Facilities were great, room was new and well-designed to make the most use of the limited space. I did not feel that there wasn't enough space, even though the size of the room is probably similar to other hotels in general. View from the room was nice too where I could see the mountains in the distance. There was even a website to check how crowded the public bath was in real-time, so you can avoid crowded timings. There was a huge map in the lobby introducing various restaurants and shops nearby, which was helpful for exploring the neighbourhood. Location was good too, near enough to the centre of action and you can technically walk to the Obiyamachi shopping arcade (about 15 mins), though the area does get a little too quiet after sundown. There was a good spread at breakfast, you can have sea bream rice (a famous food in Ehime) and also yuzu french toast (Kochi is famous for yuzu).

NO halal food for breakfast. Not even egg. No fruits. Paid for breakfast but starved. Only coffee n mini croissant. We requested the manager if they can prepare just boiled eggs. Request was denied. Not accommodating. If u travel to kochi make sure u carry ur own food.

1) Overall rigidness of the staff. They will smile & listen to all you have to say and answer is always a NO. 2) Parking is a scam..They charge you 1000yen everytime you get in & out. It's not for 24hrs.. 3) Breakfast is a disaster. requested for boiled eggs or any other egg as most of the food in the breakfast didn't suit us. But the answer was a No , first from the staff and later for the next 2 days , we requested the manager but he smiled & said NO.. so better to book rooms without the breakfast option..the choice is very limited & uninteresting.

Lobby is decent. Room was average and the beds are very low , so some may not find it comfortable. Bathroom shower area is too small. Room had big windows which gave a nice view.

Not many eateries of walking distance

Loved this hotel. Artsy design, nightly dance performances near the lobby, nice onsen with very good ginger and tea drinks, and the semi suite design is lovely too.

Front desk didn’t suggest anywhere we could go for dinner when we checked in. It’s christmas’ eve & also our 34th wedding anniversary.
