It's a beautiful ryokan with very friendly owners and staff and near wonderfull waterfalls. Very good Japanese breakfast and lovely onsen.

Maybe I overlooked, but I got only one towel? But minor thing, very much enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Convenient location for train station, lovely onsen at the bottom of the hotel. Large, traditional rooms. Staff were welcoming and friendly

Futon and pillow combo is a bit tough if you are western and used to a mattress. The hotel is a bit “local” I’d say, probably not massively suitable to non Japanese.

    Japanese Traditional Ryokan with Onsen!

A little bit far from train station.

Good location. Host drove me to station on departure which I was not aware of so a nice surprise. Only room available when I booked was Japanese style which was authentic. Futon bed was comfortable and private bath and toilet were good. Did not eat in restaurant or use onsen so can't comment on those. Nice heavy curtains so able to block out exterior lights. Very quiet for sleeping.

TV only had a few Japanese channels so no good for English speakers. Had to ask how to use the air con as no English instructions. Had to ask for a higher chair to sit in of an evening as low chairs too awkward for an older person.

Room was spacious. Plenty of room for yoga, which is important to me when traveling.

Given that it was a traditional ryokan style, there wasn’t a comfortable chair to use a laptop or ipad.

When you arrive the Ryokan is dedicated to getting you on the slopes as fast as possible. Have arrangement that they call a minibus which takes you to the ski hire rental and then another minibus will take you on to one of the two ski start points

A nice little hotel in japanese style, with friendly staff that also could speak english. The outdoor onsen was lovely and surrounded by a little japanese garden.

The Japanese breakfast was very good with many small dishes. And to our surprise, the breakfast was almost completely different on the second day of our stay.

Lovely old style hotel with hot spring. Clean room and good service. Next is a excellent Japanese bar (one-minute walk). It is wonderful for family with elevator and kid's playroom.

Walking for a short slope to hotel. No washing machine.

The most favorite thing we liked was the hotel service. They were very friendly and helpful. They made it so easy for my family to be able to snowboard as soon as we arrived.

    everything was awesome.

Great place to stay - well run and organised, clean, restful and peaceful environment. Enjoyed the onsen facilities very much and the amenities are good. Daily Japanese breakfast with plenty to eat, tasty food but after 4 days we were hoping for some variety. Service staff were all very accommodating to our requests, friendly and genuinely eager to please; despite limited spoken English. Location is very central but away from traffic noise; and close to great dining and drinking places in town. A relatively short walk from the train station as well; but could take a bit of effort if you have a lot of luggage.

Traditional ryokan, very nice host. Knows no english but gets herself understood. Stay here if you want to experience what a ryokan is.

Furniture and room in general is a bit dated, but it kinda fits the ryokan theme.
