Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanEntrance smelled like tobacco since there was a smoking area right by the front door.
Onsen, breakfast (had to pay extra 1800 yen, but it’s worth it), free amenities, separated 2 piece pajamas

United StatesA couple of our mattresses were stained, not clean. The room size, I know 4 people can sleep but there's got to be room to move around, it almost seems that this was a two bed room and they just threw two extra futons and made it a 4 person room. The elevator door does not stay open very long and it does not sense when people are trying to enter, it's quite dangerous.
I liked how close it was to the commercial area.

Germanyyou need to use the stairs to get to the roof onsen. Since it's not heated, i recommend to soak in a hot tub inside before not a tattoo friendly onsen
Stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights. Location is ok and many tourist attractions in a walkable distance. Onsen option is very nice and you can soak in a hot water after the full day of walking.

AustraliaOur room was missing a small table and a chair. We only know this because they were in our room last time we stayed here. The room felt a bit older and less maintained then last time we were here. There was a trouser press machine which was big and took up space in the room. Last time we stayed here which was a couple of years ago but the open air onsen allowed snow to fall in and it was so magical being up there when it was snowing with snow falling on you while you were in the hot water. This time only the men’s onsen allowed snow to fall though the roof and not the women’s which was really disappointing. That was one of the reasons we booked this hotel for my birthday so I could have that magical snowy onsen experience again. I was very disappointed. One of the onsen staff who was taking a bath after the onsen staffing hours finished was gossiping to another woman about me. I guess they didn't realise I could understand Japanese being a western girl.
A short walk from Susukino station. The room has everything you need and there's amenities and a laundry room downstairs on the reception ground floor. Microwaves and vending machines are on the reception level and on 2 other levels. They had free hand warmers at reception which was kind of them and luggage storage. The Onsen is really nice with indoor and outdoor baths, pots to sit in and a sauna.

AustraliaVery small rooms. Expensive. People with tattoos cannot use public facilities such as public baths. Despite booking non-smoking rooms, one of our rooms was on a smoking floor. And it did faintly smell of cigarettes. Staff mixed up our rooms and gave us the wrong number of keys.
Location. Facilities. Plenty of vending machines and a laundry to use. The smart TV was good and allowed us to use streaming apps such as Netflix

SingaporeThe location was a little bit far from susukino station and have to walk about 9 mins and during winter time, it was so slippery.
I like the onsen, the onsen was big enough. Just that have to climb stairs to get to the open air onsen and while climbing, it was so cold. The receptionists were all very friendly and I felt welcomed and they could speak English which was good.

United StatesThe smoking room is right by the entrance lobby so right upon entry you smell cigarette smoke. We don’t smell this anywhere else in the hotel though.

United StatesMy room had a wifi problem so I was placed into another room but the new room was close to the lighted sign of the hotel. The hotel is a bit far from a train/subway station but I think it was the fact that I was dragging a roller bag in the snow. The bed did feel a bit hard.
This was a great hotel. The staff was amazing. They allowed me to store my bags before my check-in time and put them in my room before I checked in. The staff also gave me great suggestions for places to see and to eat the local fare. The public bath was a great way to relax after sightseeing.

AustraliaIt's a dated hotel, which is fine but the cigarette smell permeates in the hall way and reception area. That would be my only negative.
We booked a family room which was the most spacious room, everything was so clean. Reception area have a whole table of free amenities, kids received their own amenities bag too. Parking was easy and although I don't speak Japanese, the parking attendants tried so hard to communicate, even writing me a message to say 'welcome home' when we returned from going for a drive. Onsen on site was lovely.
