Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesCapsule bed was a little cramped and room was small with little space for backpack. Far from station. About 30 min by subway. Should havespent subway fare on somewhere closer.
Amazing full bath and shower! Working AC in the room. Good clean bathrooms.

United StatesSleeping in dorms isn't ideal, and there was very little space for luggage in the room, but is what I signed up for. That said, the other guests were all quiet and respectful. This is much better than a hostel environment in North America or Europe.
Thoughtful amenities like toiletries and coffees and teas. Friendly staff made me feel right at home. The tatami lounge area was great for quietly getting work done; jet lag had me awake at 3am each day.

JapanI needed a short stay and didn’t mind a cheap place. But it exceeded my expectations. Nearest subway line took me straight to Sapporo and to a new restaurant area. It was a bit hard lugging my suitcase through the snow for less than 10 minutes and climbing the entry stairs, but the location was really good. The facilities and common room were AMAZING and was a pleasant surprise! The staff were attentive and very accommodating. Would recommend.

United StatesOne challenge that Pirka Sapporo may have a difficult time managing is the lack of bathrooms. One urinal and one toilet for 12 guests. I'm not certain in the private rooms have en suite toilets (which could help to off set some usage), but if everyone has to use the toilet at the same time, things could get messy. Simultaneously, the sleeping pods got kind of hot at night. A fan is provided in the pod for air circulation, but I prefer to sleep without excess sound. That is just my preference, though.
Pirka Sapporo is a quiet, clean, and intentionally managed Japanese tatami mat, sectioned hotel. It's simple, straightforward, and built for travelers who prefer a hotel experience with fewer bells and whistles. Honestly, it's one of the best of its type that I have stayed in so far. For context, I have stayed in 6 hotels just like it. I prefer it for the community-oriented atmosphere. The owners are always around and ready to welcome guests back to the hotel after a long day of work/sight-seeing.

United StatesWhile not a problem for us- be aware you have to walk outdoor stairs to reach the entrance. There is no elevator. If you have mobility issues this might not be a good fit.
The owners were incredible kind. They went out of their way to make your stay great. It isn’t far from the subway line or a 7/11. Room size was good. Over all a great place to stay when visiting. Would stay here again

United StatesThat I couldn't stay longer:(
I walked there from Central Sapporo and altho it's off the beaten path it's in a cute neighborhood and I got a chance to see other parts of Sapporo. Thoughtful details. Cloth bags with towels and bath products. Miso soup, tea and coffee. The capsules are equipped with personal fan, light, sockets, and a laundry line!! Who thinks of that? Also a sweet going gift and so much more.

MalaysiaThe guest house is at 2nd floor and you need to take some outdoor stairs, so it might be a bit inconvenient. But other than this, no complain at all.
The whole guest house is pretty clean and well maintained, and the whole stay was very comfortable. The owners are very kind and friendly. And it is really nice that they provide free instant coffee, instant milk tea, instant miso soup etc where you can drink at any time.

JapanI went in the winter, so walking through snow and climbing up to the 2nd floor outside to get to this place was a little cold, but I wouldn't let that deter me from choosing this place.
The owners were some of the best people I've met. They are so warm and friendly. The place itself is very clean and well organized. Free miso soup, tea, and coffee in the common area was also very welcomed! There's even a bathtub for those who prefer that over a shower. Very well recommended for anyone to stay!

JapanI thought it was a woman only dormitory but its actually for both men and women. Although the facilities (beds, bathroom...) are separate, they are all located on the same floor. It isnt a big issue, but i wasnt expecting it.
The common room has everything you need, from tea to nice manga

JapanThe dorm beds are tatami and futon style, which can be a little hard on your back if you aren't used to it.
It was close to a train station, and not too far from major attractions by taxi. There's a large collection of manga that can be read at your leisure (if you can read Japanese). They also have a map of Sapporo on a wall, and it shows where major attractions are and gives additional information. There are signs all around the hostel that give as much information (such as closest stations and etc.) as possible.

South KoreaSince it is Japanese style house, You should watch your steps at night. Common space in dormitory (for both sex) is quite small so you should be careful to do not bother others. But it could be a good point for some guests.
The best guesthouse I've ever experienced in Sapporo. Great location (3~4 stations from Oodori station; 5 mins from stations to the guest house). Welcoming and kind hosts. Useful amenities and cleaning stuffs like Shampoo, body wash, and even facial wash! Clean and comfortable bathtub (You can enjoy anytime!). Even though they don't provide breakfast, you can have some free cocoa, miso soup, and whatever you brought. Still miss the warm and clean bathtub... 😇 I don't recommend Pirca Sapporo to just random tourists because I want to recommend here to good and nice people around me. If you are a one of them, I highly recommend here to you!

CanadaRooms and facilities very clean, smooth check in, good location. I would like to thank the staff here that helped us jumpstart the car on the cold morning of departure. Because of your quick and courteous actions, I was able to make my flight as the check in was closing. Without you, I would not have made my connecting flight back to Canada. You saved me a massive headache.
