Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only negative is that togari is small and remote. There are no ATMs and most of the businesses only accept/prefer cash, so make sure you have enough before you arrive.
My stay was fantastic and the staff were brilliant. I lost my purse on the train to togari and the owner was so accommodating, she went above and beyond to help me until I got it back. The hotel was warm; the bathroom, shower room, and onsen were all cleaned daily. The breakfast was large and tasty (perfect for a day of skiing). The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the slopes and a 3 minute walk from the bus stop, so good location.

CanadaI do wish the iiyama bus station was a bit closer or had a more frequent bus to get to the Inn, but this is out of their control!
Some of the most friendly and helpful staff Loved their onsen Proximity to Togari ski resort was awesome, and the shuttle to other resorts was closeby too (beware that there is only one shuttle in the morning to Nozawa and the earliest arrival is 10am) Clean, cozy facility Awesome dry room and storage for ski gear

United StatesThe location was a little hard to get to. I do recommend trying to stay local in the area, espically if u plan on staying out a little later. If you have a car then it shouldn't be an issue at all. Thank you again for the amazing accommodation.
I absolutely loved this hotel and the experience that came with it. Thank you so much to the owner and her husband for making the trip out there the best ever! They helped with every need and question I had. I also recommend stopping by the bar down the street as they own that place too. The Bartender was one of the nicest guys I've met in Japan. The communication was clear, the hotel was super clean, the price was great, and my favorite was the staff. Thank you both so much for helping and making the trip much easier espically with navigating. :)

ChinaI had an excellent skiing vacation at this homestay in Nozawa Onsen. From the moment I checked in, I could feel the meticulous service. The rooms are well - equipped, and the heating is sufficient, allowing me to rest comfortably after a day of skiing. The location of the homestay is perfect, being very close to both the ski resort and the hot spring, which makes getting around extremely convenient. Moreover, the homestay provides a considerate luggage storage service, allowing me to enjoy my skiing time without any burden. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to friends who come to ski in Nozawa Onsen. It offers high cost - effectiveness and an amazing experience!

United StatesThe property was fantastic but bring lots of cash if you want to explore the town. Many places only accept cash. This includes the ski rentals place which is connected to the resort.
I was on a long business trip in Tokyo from NYC and wanted to get away and ski for the weekend. This was the perfect getaway. The owners are amazing people! The inn is a five min walk to the Togari Ski Resort. My room was very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The whole inn is clean and cozy.

AustraliaI loved the traditional Japanese accommodation. The owners are lovely and friendly. It's so close to the ski slope, local supermarket, restaurants and express buses to nozowa onsen and ilyama. The onsen was amazing after skiing all day. No line ups for the lifts.

United KingdomThe first thing to say is that the staff is really friendly and helpful. The location is great, at the heart of the resort, just a couple of minutes walk from the ski slopes. The rooms are simple and comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty. The bath downstairs is spatious and very pleasant and the facilities for skying are very good, with even a drying room for ski gear! It was a great stay!
