IsraelWe had a room with a semi outdoor private bath. In order to keep the bath private and not viewable from the street, they made a wall which pretty much blocked the beautiful view of the lake. And much of the light.
Lakefront and near the bus stop and the falls. There were 2 onsens each for men and women. One regular hot spring and one with minerals. There were robed and kimonos and slippers for the guests.

Amazing hotel ! Great staff, the room was spacious with all amenities and a fantastic view on the lake and the Torii gate. Close to everything : supermarket, laundry, bus stop, boat and bicycle rental, and hikes. Oh, and great Onsen to relax after a whole day out Just beware of the local restaurant closing very early, book your dinners around 5.30pm or 6pm

United StatesThe trees were still brown in April at Lake Chuzenj and snow on the ground in some places but it was still beautiful for the shoulder season.
A great hybrid experience of the Japanese Ryoken and a western hotel. The meals were traditional Japanese where you were given the option to wear kimonos that were provided. The staff was very friendly and made every effort to communicate with pretty good English. Location was amazing with a beautiful view of Lake Chenzuji along with a tori gate. I would recommend renting a car to get around the whole Nikko area easily. Rooms were very clean with comfortable beds.

United StatesThe breakfast was an amazing assortment of traditional Japanese breakfast items including mackerel, udon, rice bowls, etc. The view from the room of Lake Chuzenji was beautiful. The onsen was very relaxing - we went in early March and it was snowing on the onsen but it was still perfectly warm. The staff were kind and accommodating.

We had a room with private onsen and it was amazing. Breakfast and dinner were quite a spread and delicious. The staff were fantastic! Location is great to access many hikes and near waterfalls. The hotel is just across the lake. Bus stop is also a 2 min walk away.
