Super excellent location. Comfy beds. Wonderful hot shower. Very clean except for room tatami mats. I would suggest a bigger sign so ignorant foreigners don't walk on tatami with shoes.

Very happy with our choice couldn’t have asked for a better location. Gion was beautiful and more peaceful, close to so many temples, short walk to either bridge crossings. If you like your coffee take the time to go to Cat Coffee just around the corner from the hotel and make sure you try some of the little cafes and restaurants nearby the hotel as well especially the Boa Brunch and Sfera are definitely worth it.

Firstly, the staff were incredible and really easy to deal with. The room was lovely and had more than enough space for the two of us. Location was great, a 5min walk to the busy shopping streets one way and 5min to the subway the other. All while feeling unique and isolated from the crowds. Loved our stay here.

The bins weren’t emptied daily. You accumulate a lot of rubbish in Japan because there aren’t many public bins out and about, so we had rubbish piled up next to the bins in our room.

The property was in a great location with spacious rooms and helpful staff. The hotel door locked overnight, and only guests could access it with a key, which felt nice and safe. We kept our bags behind reception until check in and after a day exploring they had been moved to our room for us. There were also some free toiletries like bath salts and hair oil that you could help yourself to.

Beds are a bit firm, but that seems normal in Japan compared to Australia.

It is very clean and a great location to get to all the major tourist spots. The bathroom was great with lots of space, modern and clean.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The room had everything you needed, was a good size, well presented and quiet. The property was located perfectly to explore the area and in very close proximity to the rail and bus stations to explore the surrounding areas. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The bed was quite firm and the pillows were the thin feather type that compress into flat nothing within minutes of putting your head down. This was a theme at every hotel we stayed at in Japan though(and plenty of people prefer it!) The laundry machine also didn't seem to fully work - people before us advised that it couldn't really dry clothes after multiple attempts. We found a nearby laundromat that worked out well.

The room was very nice, spacious with a small tatami seating area. The bathroom was excellent, with a separate toilet cubical inside the larger bathroom, both with real/solid doors, and a very nice shower. It came with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap, as well as things like toothbrushes, hairbrushes and razors, and had nice lighting. The location was great for a first trip to Kyoto, in the historic Gion district but on a fairly quiet street, near the river/bridges and metro stops. Our room faced the street and we had no issues with noise.
