Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe service was a bit strange. You basically check yourself in while they point at a screen and they are kind of around when you need them but mostly stay out of your way. Can be a pro or con.
Lovely room, traditional feel but also regular Western beds with soft, comfortable linens. Nice robe/slippers. Upstairs private onsen and public foot bath were both great. Breakfast was yummy and free sake and beer... Top notch. Great location, super quiet but within walking distance of subway and restaurants.

AustraliaWould have been nice to have a men's & women's sento for usage without booking, but the room baths make up for that.
Lots of thought has been put into the facilities and experience.

United StatesLoved this little hotel in this great neighborhood. After staying in the craziness of Shinjuku, this was a wonderful small hotel in a quieter neighborhood. Free beer and sake, free breakfast, and comfortable rooms with great tubs. Loved the vibe, the neighborhood, and the staff.

AustraliaI loved my stay at this charming hotel in Asakusa. Everything about it was thoughtfully designed, from the beautifully decorated interiors to the small but perfectly arranged rooms. The rooftop private open-air bath and the lounge area offering sake were definite highlights. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. The hotel is located in a quieter area yet just a short walk from several train stations, making it super convenient to get around Tokyo. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!

AustraliaBeds and pillows were very uncomfortable, made resting and sleeping difficult. We booked two rooms, one was a good size, the other was quite small and made using the bathroom difficult due to the limited space.

PhilippinesThis is just a personal preference but I'm not a fan of basins located outside of the bathroom.
I had an amazing stay at SAKE Bar Hotel Asakusa. • Location was great. It was a 5-minute walk from the Asakusa station (Toei Asakusa line). It was surrounded by multiple convenience stores as well. It was also in one of the smaller streets so while it's in the main area, you can still enjoy a lot of quiet. • Great room and amenities - the room was quaint, which is expected in most hotels in Tokyo, but it provided all the basic comforts you need (water heater worked well, air conditioning was cool, bed and pillows had the right firmness). There was a water dispenser on each floor. The rooftop was a nice surprise with the views and free sake. Fast and consistent internet in the rooms is enough for video calls and online work. • Great customer service - While the check-in was automated, the front desk was ready to assist and answer any questions. They also gave me a free bottle of sake upon checkout. • Adequate breakfast spread - The breakfast was good. There wasn't many options but they always had one egg dish 2 viands, and onigiri.

Czech RepublicGreat small hotel , fantastic open sake bar at the lobby and next to the wellness on the top floor . Including Whisky, draft beer and Shochu. Very nice onsen with small sauna on top floor with 1h private included . Absolutely amazing views from the top floor with feets in the hot water tub. The only inconvenience is that we were 4 of us in 1 room as family and beds are extremely narrow , there are additional tatami beds , but once you unfold them , there is no room even for the luggage in the room 🤗

United KingdomWe loved our stay at SAKE bar hotel. The location is great, the hotel - a full immersion into Japan experience. The staff were very kind and helpful, they even decorated the room for my daughter’s birthday and arranged a cake! We really enjoyed the free snacks, drinks and the foot spa on the roof.

United StatesOverall, this is a great hotel. My only mistake was booking a room that was way too small, so I didn’t have any space for my luggage. This made it very challenging to navigate and get ready. The room also didn’t get much light, which also made it difficult to wake up in the mornings. This was my fault for not booking a bigger room and requesting one that had good sunlight. To avoid this, I suggest to other guests to book at least a queen sized suite or maybe one with two beds, which I suspect is much more comfortable and has plenty of space to place luggage. However, the hotel was clean, it had plenty of amenities, including onsens, and their staff were incredibly helpful. In fact, their staff went above and beyond to help me resolve an issue that I had in my logistics—an issue which was entirely unrelated to my stay at their hotel, which they could have easily declined to assist me with. Despite the issue being unrelated to my stay there, their staff still chose to go above and beyond and help me, and that alone is enough of a reason for me to book a stay there again in the future. The location is also absolutely perfect, just a 5 minute walk from the center of Asakusa. I do recommend this hotel to others and will be back in the future.

Very private, almost felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and it was a short walk to the temple, shopping and subway. Footbath on the roof was awesome after walking around town and the included sake, beer and food was great too! Definitely staying here again when we take another trip to Tokyo!
