Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaPrice/Quality ratio is said to be below par on Booking, but I would say that is due to high season. The price is a bit too high during the sakura blossom, but you need to take into the account that the hotel is on the Mt. Yoshino itself and close to the station. Everything was good!
I enjoyed my stay at Miyoshino Sakuraan. The location is great, the personnel are polite, and all the amenities have been provided. Private bath (there are 3 or 4 of them) was very good (you just have to book it free of charge when checking in).

United StatesWhile it did not affect me, guests considering staying here should know that the facility is completely closed I think between 10-4. You won’t be able to go to your room. It’s a weird policy I think. Checkout time is also very early, even for Japan.
It was a comfortable minshuku with a very nice bed and great bath facilities. Kind staff and overall a good minshuku experience. I especially appreciated being able to park my car in their lot the morning several hours before checking in.

AustraliaThis was a beautifully kept room in a homey guesthouse. This was my only experience at a ryokan, staying at a string of hotels in the rest of my stay, and the quiet, private and genial hospitality was a delightful change.

United StatesThis is a great location, a short walk to the train, just past the bottom station of the cable car. The place was peaceful, clean, and comfortable. We could even see cherry blossoms right outside our room!

United KingdomAll the things I list are made clear to you when you confirm your reservation so I am not complaining but they make it a bit more awkward. 1) You can't get in between the hours of 10-4 pm and, unless you are staying another night, you have to check out by 9am. However, the train station lockers are not very far away if you need to leave luggage when you arrive 2) There was no food being offered whilst we were there and there are very few/no places open for dinner after 5/6 pm. 3) You need to book the bathroom (onsen) as they only want one family group at a time but toilets and wash basins are separate. The best slots ran out quickly.
This place is just up the hill from the train station, so very easy to access (5 mins on foot). It's on the path up to Mount Yoshino so you can get there by walking up the path on the right hand side of entrance to the ropeway or along the road. The beds were really comfy - a sort of half way between a futon and a class Western style bed. The rooms are nicely appointed with a good view. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We sent luggage ahead and it was well stored. Its not far to walk up to the top of the ropeway so in a very convenient spot (and easy to get to the bottom of the ropeway if you don't want to walk).

FranceThe property is closed to the train station and the ropeway station. Our room was small but clean and comfortable. The shared hot bath is well organised. A few negative points: the shared bathroom can only be used at night and there was only cold water on the sink of the toilet; there is neither possibility to have diner or any kind of breakfast.

United StatesThe location was great. I was carrying a large suitcase from the train station, and there was some uphill terrain getting to the ryokan, but it wasn’t super far, and once was there I was able to store my suitcase in the shed using the padlock code that they shared with me in the pre check in email. That allowed me to walk around and explore for a few hours while I waited for the 4pm check in time. I loved the quiet and peaceful property which was a perfect place to rest during my travels. The bath was also perfect. It’s a shared bath but there were only a few other guests, and I got to use it first. The woman running the property asked me to take only about 15 minutes in the bath, which I probably went a few minutes over because it was so wonderful. Later she brought me a little dessert and was very sweet. I slept perfectly. I loved this experience.

United StatesThe only issue was the stairs getting up to the property from the station at the base. Other than that, there was nothing else to complain about,
The room at this ryokan was exactly what was expected. The staff was friendly and the property was adequate. I did enjoy the reserve system for using the hot tub as I was staying alone. The location was very convenient as it was at the start of the trail and near the train station.

United StatesJust a couple things to note: - most likely you will be sharing a bathroom with other guests - they ask that you leave the hotel between 10 am - 4 pm, which could be problematic when it’s rainy.
Great location right by the Yoshino station for those traveling by train. Be sure to take the stairs to the right for a short cut that leads directly to the property.

United StatesLocation is good, but the owner didn’t mention to go via flat road instead of we known was to climb the cliff with luggage.
Not comfortable at all, definitely over charged.
