Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Japanthe mattresses were very soft and springy. The larger mattress was dipped in the middle so my wife slept on the smaller bed. could have had an iron. the tub was slow draining. not "soundproof", fairly noisy night and day. more toilet paper available would be good.
location was very good, not far from the nightlife and small spots. pretty easy to find. Ample space for opening up our suitcases and lounging around. Owner gave us the room we asked for so I really appreciate that. AC worked well

AustraliaLocation was excellent. Lovely suburban feel just three blocks from the main part of Shibuya. Local brewery across the street. Amazing shower. Bedroom with two singles and another two singles in living area. Was perfect for my family of four. The lift made it easy getting up and down with a pram.

United StatesSome kitchen towels would be great. We tried the vacuum but couldn’t get it to work. The little bar next door can be noisy till 11pm or so.
The location is great, real close to all the shopping’s in Shibuya. The room is relatively small but that’s expected in Tokyo, and having a washing machine in the unit is a plus.

JapanGreat location, and amazing space. The price was a little high, though, and the process to enter the building and use the elevator, while not difficult, was a little unusual.

United StatesUnfortunately the Wifi was very limited and despite trying to reset the router we mainly had to rely on 5G data.
A quick 5 minute walk from some of the best shopping in Shibuya! The area felt safe and the building was easy to access. We were exceptionally pleased by the bar below us for their customer service and advice when touring the city!

United StatesThere were pretty strict rules that were a bit difficult to adhere to. We would be fined if we ate on the futon. I think that meant the bed. Since the room was so small, we had to put our luggage on the chairs, so there weren’t many places where we could eat our snacks, other than the floor. But I do understand that the rules are strict in order to keep the place clean and tidy. We also couldn’t roll our rolling luggage into the room. We had to carry them in.
It was small, but fine for the 3 of us. It had everything we needed and was very clean. It was a bit far from the train station, but at least it wasn’t in an area that was full of people all the time. There was a very good coffee shop right in the front of the building. There was also a 7-11 right across the street which was great for getting snacks and drinks.

AustraliaCoul have done with maybe one chair and one small couch instead of four chairs - took up too much space. Couldn't work out the rubbish bins. One of the beds covered part of the cupboard in the lounge/sleeping area.
Location was excellent! It was spotless and also easy to check in and check out. Any questions were answered promptly.

IsraelThe beds were just ok. There is some noise till 11-12 in the night from the local pubs, but it's not major. Some of the facilities didn't work as intended
The location is good, on a small and silent street, 15 min walk from Shibuya station. The place is surrounded by pubs, cafes, and other eating options. It is easily accessible from Tokyo metro, and you can always walk to a bussing Shibuya area. The room we had was, in fact, two rather spacious rooms - perfect for two people.

AustraliaThe property was saturated with signs outlining rules and regulations, spanning from the entrance to the elevator and throughout the interior. These directives were reinforced by threats of fines for any infractions. The excess of information left us feeling overwhelmed. Despite paying a premium for our stay with the anticipation of a peaceful night's sleep, our rest was unfortunately disrupted, and the cleaning standards did not meet our expectations.
The property utilised a self-check-in system, but unfortunately, it fell short of our cleanliness standards. We observed hair on the bathroom/laundry floor and noticed some dust in the corners. Our one-night stay post-Halloween was slightly disrupted by external noise and sounds from the adjacent room, proving somewhat bothersome in the early morning. Nevertheless, the remainder of the property was well-maintained, and the beds provided a comfortable night's sleep.

United StatesThere’s a lot of rules, but don’t be dettered by them. It’s for the good of both the owner and guests.
We stayed in this property for two days. The room assigned to us was clean and very spacious. It has everthing that we need, bonus that there’s a washer and a balcony to hang and dry clothes. Wi-fi works well. Walking distance to shibuya crossing, coffee shops, convenience stores, restaurants and train station which is great.

United StatesIf you are used to concierge and being able to ask someone questions that is not on-site. But they are responsive to emails and provide a useful into file for utilizing everything in the room.
Being close to Shibuya, but a tiny bit away from the noise was both comfortable and convenient. Easy to access and use at any hour when jetlag had our group up at early hours.
