Great location! So walkable to a lot of spots while still being really calm, peaceful, and beautiful inside. Staff was all very friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable. Loved having a washing machine in our room too - at this point in our trip we definitely needed to do some laundry so we booked the queen room with washing machine and it worked out perfectly. Definitely would stay here again!

Only a 5 min walk from the train station and close to numerous restaurants, Nishiki Market, and Pontocho Alley. We arrived a couple of hours early and were greeted with iced green tea.Thankfully, they were able to accommodate an early check-in for us, so we were able to settle in and start exploring Kyoto. Rooms are just as pictured. We got one with a washing machine/dryer and was thankful we did. It was perfect to launder our clothes daily. All the toiletries and laundry soap are provided. The room was very spacious and located on the 1st floor, so it was nice not to have to wait for elevators every day. Tattoos ok for onsen. Loved the outdoor space with trees and lots of natural light behind the bar. Would definitely stay here again!

We love the new Mitsui Garden hotel Sanjo in the past we always stayed at the old Sanjo. We love everything about this hotel especially the washing machine in one of the rooms I booked. Everything is to a high quality the staff the restaurant and bars everything is stunning.

Just lack of storage- we lived out if cases for 3 days but didn’t mind as the quality and feel of hotel was . Didn’t use the public bath ( from the photos online- I thought it was a pool) . Didn’t do breakfast so can’t comment.

Fantastic location. Wonderful feel around this hotel. Rooms are absolutely lovely although could do with some storage for clothes. Staff are warm and friendly and helpful.

Can't think how it could have been better. We loved this hotel!

Did not try the hotel breakfast. The welcome was exceedingly warm, and our luggage (which we had sent from Tokyo) was already in our room. Facilities and amenities were excellent, even complimentary umbrellas for a rainy day.

Very nice hotel in central Kyoto. The hotel is not far from the tube station. 10 minutes by train to go to the main train station in Kyoto. The room is very clean and the bed is super comfy. Breakfast is really good with many products to choose from, for all tastes. The price is quite reasonable considering the high standard of the hotel. Definitely recommend it for a nice stay in Kyoto.

Very quiet, very special hotel in the heart of Kyoto, close to a famous market. The room was clean (every day). It was a super comfortable stay. Did not want to leave :) Private bath worth it.

Shame their wasn't a mixed pool.. & the gym was to small with no windows or tv. You couldn't run outside due to the heat, so a gym with windows or tv to distract you while running inside. I'm being very picky here which I don't like because our stay their was lovely. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
