Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaIt was already mentioned in other reviews, so we were prepared not to expect much. However, there was dust on the walls and shelves, particularly near the fridge.
The location is easy to find and close to Nagano Station. There are two convenience stores nearby, and you can walk to Zenkouji Temple from the hotel. The bed was comfortable, and even though we requested no room cleaning, we were provided with fresh towels and room wear. Overall, the hotel was a great value for the price we paid.

United StatesThe rooms were old and outdated. There was dust in many places in my smoking room, it had a very strong odor. Luckily for me everything else still worked.

JapanThe facility is OLD. It is quite literally falling apart. There was some mold in the bathroom, and a lot of things are fixed with tape. (Fridge door handle, for example.) The window wouldn't open. Room smelled of tobacco.
Lovely TV, fast WiFi, great location (5min away from train station, 20 min away from Zenkoji). Free drinks available in the lobby. Heating/aircon and humidifier in the room. Convenience store 50 meters away. Overall, okay for a day or two, and for the price, I would probably return.

JapanI think the cleanliness of the room was okay, but it could have been to a better standard. It was nice having tea sachets, but coffee and creamer in my room would have been even better. The smell of cigarettes was a bit strong, however they disclosed that it was a smoking room so it was to be expected. I utilised the room freshener spray that was included to freshen the smell.
The inclusion of breakfast was a nice addition. The location was very convenient in a central area close to convenience stores, places to eat, shop and it was conveniently close to the station.

NetherlandsThe hotel is very bad. We payed before we arrived via Booking.com, but when we checked in, the lady wanted us to pay again. Only when we said we already paid, she went ahead and checked. Then she asked us if it’s correct we already paid. We were very confused about this. The staff speaks no English, but that is okay if you have Google Translate and/or know a bit of Japanese. Overall, the hotel and interior is old and never updated (but for the cheap price, you don’t expect it to be fancy or new so that’s ok). When we came into the room however, we were just shocked. The main problem is that it’s VERY DIRTY. In the bathroom, there is dirt and mold on the walls and in every corner. We thought maybe these walls are also just old, so to be sure we got a wet towel and cleaned it a bit, and the dirt easily came off the bathroom walls. In the room, there is dust in every corner and even on the wall. There is also dust on the mirrors and headboard of the bed. I wonder if they even changed the bed sheets, as everything in the room felt like it was not cleaned at all. The heater/airconditioner doesn’t work properly. The bed is very uncomfortable, you can literally feel the springs. In the hallway we noticed that it was not cleaned either, there is a lot of dust in every corner and even the elevator doors were dusty. The next morning we went downstairs to have breakfast, but we couldn’t eat it. They only have croissants and bread, but it was so old, it just fell apart when you tried to put jam on it. They do have soup, soft drinks and coffee as well, but that’s it. Overall, it is a relatively cheap stay, but even if it’s cheap, you at least expect it to be clean, even though it’s old. We were very disappointed and were glad to leave. We will never come back.
The location is good. It is close to the train station and in the centre, so close to shops.
