Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeDon't be misled by the translation software. The villa has 5 rooms and can sleep at least 10 people. The translation implied I had booked the whole villa even though I booked for 4 pax. In reality, you are sharing the two spacious kitchens and dining areas (located in both floors) with other guests. But most people are out sightseeing , so sharing is no burden.
Peaceful locality yet well served by several nice eateries and convenience stores. Lovely massage chair. Can even do laundry, with outdoor drying. (Bonus for some: Host speaks Mandarin and Korean besides Japanese.)

NetherlandsYou share the house with other guests without tbe ability to secure your belongings. Only one shower so you might have to wait a while, we stayed with a total number of 6 people. If you want to leave early you have to beat the other guest to the shower or go without.
Traditional japanese house. You feel right at place in japan with the tatami mats and futons. There is a kitchen so you can cook.

JapanCheck in process was strange, we didn't know where to go and no one was there when we got there, so we knocked on a door labeled "office" in kanji, but the lady inside also seemed surprised and hand to run to get someone else. We weren't given towels in the room, and when I asked the host, they only gave my friend and I one big one, so we had to get another ourselves from the balcony. Also when I pulled the covers of the futon back there were a handful of hairs that were already there. Later the host was showing another guest to their room and he told them, "These are foreigners" about my friend and I in Chinese, not knowing that I can actually understand Chinese. Later that guest took a photo of us without asking us in front of the bathroom. She said "I'll take a picture of these foreign ladies" again, not realizing I can understand her. That was uncomfortable, especially considering my friend and I were already in our pajamas.
-Futons were comfy -Good area -AC worked well

IndiaWe were disappointed with our stay at this property. Despite being advertised as an entire villa, we were informed upon arrival that we had only booked one room, leaving four of us to share a single space. When arrived at the property, the owner said the property was able to accommodate up to 25 people, but with just one bathtub and one shower, this is unrealistic for such a large group. The place had a strong, unpleasant odor. Additionally, the owner’s behavior was concerning. He seemed prejudiced, refusing to engage with me and assuming I couldn’t speak Japanese as soon as we arrived. His comments were inappropriate, and he made an uncomfortable remark about appearance. Lastly, the description mentioned a lake view, but there was none to be found. The TV was broken although mentioned in the listing. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience and wouldn’t recommend staying here.

NetherlandsNOTE: This is listed as a "villa" and the reservation mentions "entire villa", and you might expect something private. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! There were already 3 other people in this part of the house, and they all had booked "entire villa", but only got 1 single room. This listing should NOT be described / rented out as it is now, it is misleading. The price (57 Euro) for a room in a shared appartment is absolutely ridiculous. The owner lives in a small room in the house. He tries to be helpful but doesnt understand anything else than Chinese and Japanese. Complaints are simply ignored. I didnt want (or even couldnt) make a big deal out of this. Its sad that there is no way to complain at booking.com itself. Cleaning is maybe once a week if even that, nothing was done during my 3 day stay. The fridge was full of old leftovers from previous guests. The shower was dirty. This listing is wrong on many points: The hot tub is shared (not private), there is no desk, no private kitchen, no "lake view:, no "inner courtyard view", no "terrace", no private entrance, no additional toilet, no dressing room, no room service, free parking space is for max. 2 cars, a bar? Where?
A nice house in a average Japanese neighbourhood. It consists of 3 more or less seperated parts, each with their own kitchen and toilet / shower. Thats about all good things I can see...

JapanDo not expect privacy. Many people can stay, so shower, kitchen and toilet are shared. Cannot have noisy party, it is residential area, neighbors hear everything and can complain.

JapanCleaning was not enough in the room. Hair and dust were found on the floor or in the closet. Other guests were noisy; The room door should be fixed not to make big noise when closed. They always slammed the door, which made us unsleeping at night. Some group left the kitchen table uncleaned after use. It should have been cleaned either by themselves or by the manager. The manager told us that some rooms did not have locks. But all the rooms should have locks for the security.
Location: closer to JR station. Manager was reachable and flexible.
