The luggage elevator was not working when we arrived.

Loved the hotel the room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Not far from the main stretch maybe a 20 minute walk. Can feel a little long in the summer heat but cabs are very affordable so not a big deal. Love it and great value!

The dumb waiter was not working, so we had to carry our luggage up and down spiral stairs. I got an alarming email that said that if I did not respond to an email sent the day before the booking would be cancelled, this was not in fact the case and we did the check in when we arrived with no issues- but I had a fright!

Comfortable tatami, our room even had a little balcony, everything was automated and easy to use. Had everything we needed, including coin operated laundry and a little kitchen!

Maybe can provide at least 1 water bottle for customer because it is very far away to go downstairs if you get third floor

I love that the room using tatami, all the toilet is very clean and no smell at all. Even though the bed is a lil thin cushion but it doesnt hurt our body and the pillow is very fluffy too. Everything is perfect.

The space was a bit small and there wasn’t much room to store clothes, but considering the price, it was still a great stay.

The place had a really cute atmosphere and was very clean. It’s super close to the station and easy to find, which made everything so convenient. Communication with the host was smooth and everything was easy to use. The shared kitchen was always spotless, and having a luggage lift was a nice bonus. We really appreciated being able to leave our bags after checkout. Everything we needed was provided.

Bed slightly hard. Room a little small but roll up futon during day and roomy. Bathroom could use a hook to hang face towels.

Traditional Ryokan. Nice tatami mats with futon, private bath and shower. New, very clean and well maintained. Host responded quickly to questions on portal and WhatsApp.

Abit small, looks like you can't really move in the room well.

The location was quite ok, but it is not easy to go to Kyoto Station from the point, but it is really easy to go to Gion District.

The rooms were quite small but this is expected in Japan. There was also no staff on the property so the check in was a little confusing but relatively easy once email confirmation was received on the day.

The traditional beds were cool and pretty comfy. The common area had a nice ambience although we didn’t use it much. The rooms were clean

Perhaps the most kind host in all of our Japan stays, the host went out of their way to purchase an clothing iron for our use! We spend 5 nights in this peaceful and comfortable hotel in Kyoto. Though small it was very clean and comfortable and the coin laundry system and provision of microwave in every floor was just great.

This Ryokan is an easy & affordable stay in Kyoto, not far from many places but you must travel by bus which is convenient and frequent.

Bed was a bit lumpy so that I had to sleep on my comforter to pad it.

Location and ambience was great! So many great Japanese items and thoughtful touches like the coat rack, pictures, tatami mat, great woodwork...charming place!

Fellow adjacent tourists did not care about the house rules and the noise level. Trying to get sleep was difficult. (But this is not something concerning the quality of the hotel.)

Beautiful building overall. Very bright, clean and the luggage elevator was a great assistance. Highly comfortable tatami and futons. Great atmosphere. Room was beautiful (albeit too small for two people. Sink a bit too small, so most times it was not avoidable to wet the floor.) Shower was great and spacious.

The beds are slightly small so taller people will struggle to be comfortable in the room we were in.

The location was amazing and the rooms were clean, kitchen and laundry room downstairs were very handy when needed. Check in was very smooth and so was the check out.

Unfortunately there were no staff in the ryokan. The ryokan is fully self serviced, but super clean and in a great locatiom.

Location was very good, close by to metro station which was very convenient to visit main attractions. To go to Gion you can just take 20 min walk along the river and is so lovely. The room was actually decent size considering you have your private shower and toilet and small corner where we could fit all our luggage. If you are too tall like my husband just watch out your head :).

Lacked shelf space / hooks. Very limited room for luggage. Had to walk over/on mattress to access the shower as no space to walk around it.

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds and excellent shower. Good location for station (bus or 15 min walk) and local train.

A lovely, simple version of a typical Kyoto ‘Ryokan stay’. Not as super-traditional as other hotels, but also much better-value than other Ryokans, so it very-much meets nicely in the middle! Room is tight, but that’s what you pay for in a Ryokan! Shower is great, beds are very comfortable!

Our stay here in Kyoto was excellent. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and our three bags. The shower and bathroom were clean and the whole building was well kept. We used the washer and dryer on site and were very pleased with how well the machines worked. The location is also wonderful especially with being so close to night markets, restaurants, and a beautiful part of Kyoto. I would happily stay here again. The host was quick to respond and provided clear instructions for every aspect of our stay. Very happy we stayed here!
