Sheena and Ippei is a gem. Warm hospitality, convenient location with a laundromat next door and a few minutes to the subway, we would highly recommend. Beds are comfortable and the experience is a slice of Japan that's really sweet.

We had a fabulous stay - lovely place, great room, great coffee. The staff were so welcoming and even helped us transport our luggage from Tokyo to Osaka. We wish we could have stayed longer !! Easy walking distance to the train and good food nearby.

Out of the crowded area of Tokyo but still well connected with main neighbourhoods to We had the tatami superior room and it was spacious and clean. The owner is very nice and is always helping you with advice . Highly recommended!

Super friendly staff and lovely room. Comfortable futons and the little homely touches were very nice. We had a great stay. We loved the neighbourhood although it is a little way out and quiet. Lovely neighbourhood space downstairs.

Sachiko, her husband and her team are lovely! The place really feels like a home, which is why we've come back so many times and hope to come back again. Sheenamachi has loads of nice little restaurants, and is a bit off the beaten track so you get a taste of the real Tokyo.

This was my favourite place to stay during my time in Japan. The owners are super friendly, the room was very comfy and the neighbourhood was amazing to explore as it is more of a residential and not a very touristy area. I loved every bit of my stay and found it to be very relaxing. It's great to rest here after exploring Tokyo for the entire day.

The host was great. She is calm and gentle and answers every question I had with some English and some google translate. We were able to even have conversations. The room was comfy. If you are looking for an experience of a smaller ryokan, this is the place. Close to subway station. Shinjuku and Shibuya are easy to get to. Coin laundry next door, which we used and was convenient. 7/11 next door which we used to send our luggage ahead to the next location and that was convenient too! The reception lobby area is set up like a cute retro cafe. Super cute.

The room was small, bit that was expected in Tokyo. We enjoyed everything else.

Sachiko-san and all the staff were very welcoming and nice. We enjoyed the common room downstairs, our morning coffee and the beds were comfortable. The location was good, with lots of shops and restaurants around. Thank you for this wonderful stay at the end of our trip !

I could hear the soft cafe music from my room but that must be because I had a wonderful street facing room... With a window overlooking the street! It was a fantastic stay and everyone there is so kind. What a treat to be in such an environment. There's a great shrine and temple with a coffeeshop just nearby. The station is a 4 minute walk. Ikebukuro is the next stop so you're super well connected!

Wonderful kind caring owners. Great to meet the makers and bakers in the coffeeshop downstairs. The tatami room was really a treat. A rare and precious chance to experience older cultural modes within modern but residential Tokyo (Toshima).

Comfortable, extremely clean rooms and shared bathrooms, with an excellent location (very close to a train station and many great, local shops and restaurants - not many tourists). Staff is excellent (Sachiko is so friendly and helpful!), and the common areas are great as well.

Sachiko was great. We had a brief chat each morning over a cuppa almost like friends - plans, how was yesterday, etc. She was also gave me helpful advice when I asked. We communicated through google translate well 🙌🙌🙌 I really appreciated her and felt in the end I settled in quite well after my 5 night stay. The location of the place was close to shiinamachi station which required an extra transfer from ikebukuro. Taking the subway- figuring out the stations, multiple transfers- can be tiring but I really liked the suburb. It made me feel grounded being able to see where everyday people lived ( I was able to do pullups at a local park, get onigiri and candied sweet potatos from a rice shop, have really good Chinese food close by, etc) If I'd stayed longer, I'd be keen to try the massage place across from this accommodation also. The aforementioned Ikebukuro is a big transit hub and if you're after any souvenirs you could get pretty much anything there.

Amazing host, very convenient location (near a subway station and relatively quick to get to central Tokyo), very nice neighbourhood - quiet, loads of amenities, close to ATM, 7-11 and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here and chatting with Sachiko-san every morning (she always made us coffee (it's free), gave us lots of recommendations of things to do) and made us feel super welcome. The lounge area was very cozy and always smelled like freshly baked cookies! We will definitely stay here in our next trip to Tokyo!

It was quite expensive when compared to the flashpackers we stayed in earlier in Tokyo, and didn't include breakfast. The shared kitchen was tiny and it would have been difficult to prepare food, so good if you just need a room.

The host was incredibly helpful. She recommended a lovely cafe next to a temple and let us keep our bags at the ryokan until later in the day.

This is my third time coming back here - every time, the lovely staff, easy access to a train station and cosy rooms make me want to come back again. Hopefully it won't be too long before I am back again!

Not a bad feedback, but one should consider steep stairs to access the room, and then going back and forth from the room (1 floor) to the shared toilet/shower/sink (ground floor).

A perfect spot to enjoy a quiet neibourghood. We found delicious restaurant and cafe nearby.

Stairs are a bit too steep so you need to be careful.

The location was just lovely, very quiet and at the same time bustling with life. The beds were really comfortable and the room and shared spaces were very clean. I would definitely love to come back!

The staff at sheena to ippei are really warm and lovely! Checked in late due to some issues but Sachiko-san was so kind and understanding, and we even got a room upgrade ^^ Room was cozy and clean, and it is a short walk from the train station. It was a very comfortable stay, highly recommend! ♡
