It's a self check-in system so you might not see anybody (not really the kind of thing I appreciate generally) but the owner answers really quick to the message on Booking so not a big deal. It's a bit far from shops and supermarket if you are on foot as I did but there are some bicycles available.

It's a beautiful place in the countryside. As I stayed alone for 2 days there, I felt like home and comfortable. This place was very convenient as a Ohenro with many temples around. You have all the amenities you might need and the place is also very clean and quiet. The afternoon you might encounter the kiwi farmer living near by, working in the kitchen. I really enjoyed it, she was super nice !

A bit far from any restaurants, but they had bike to borrow which was convenient.

Stayed in the bunks and the beds were very comfortable. The other guests were considerate. The best was the fresh brewed coffee in the morning.

Was a bit too cold for winter 😹 And there was a power tripped … twice 😹 The owner was nice and came to fix it but still took a while.

The house is really nice and Japanese! Feels like visit relatives in the countryside. Kitchen is spacey and fully equipped. Great for cooking.

There is only one set of bathrooms and showers. I was only there with a couple of other people, so it didn't really affect my stay except for when more than one person needed the toilet, but with a full house would be really hard. It would also be loud with a lot of people there.

The neighborhood was beautiful and the host was nice, but we did not meet in person. The shower water pressure was amazing and they had inexpensive toiletries. The room was cold when we got there, but warmed up very quickly!

The room was smelling old house that wasn't enough ventilated but after a night, we forgot about it !

It was a big Japanese traditional house. We weren't numerous travelers, but it was great to have the house for us. The kitchen were well equipped and the futon comfortable. Closed to rice field, so it was quiet. All is self chek-in. We saw nobody except some farmers working around...a lot of space, making easier to park a car

Beautiful place, minimalist style with everything you need. Easy self-check in and great communication from hosts. The location is wonderful, ideal for pilgrims heading from temples 73-74.

The hostel is quite a distance from any train stations, so pray for a bus if you are carrying heavy luggage. The kitchen could do with a larger variety of pots, and would benefit from the constant addition of some basic ingredients, eg oil

Albeit quiet, the living space of miyama-tei is relaxing and neat; It’s a shame there weren’t more people staying, so as to make the most of the soothing atmosphere and facilities. The bikes were very useful for travelling into, out of and around the area.

I thought it would be too far from town but a reliable bus schedule provided access to all the amenities except on Sunday. The host offered to take me to the station. That was a nice surprise.

It was clean and well-equipped for any and all henros on the trail. The hosts were very accommodating. I appreciated the towels provided for each day of my stay. And the ride to the train station on Sunday was an added bonus. I would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time spending with our friends here. Very good location, clear introduction before we check in, very fine kitchen equipment so we can cook us a simple meal! Love the washing machine and the shower was great, too! A neat and big house, full of traditional Japan culture, a beautiful and historic building. So worth it.

The house is far from the station and the shop, if you have a car it is not a problem, but there is practically no public transport near the house.

The House is very nice and spacious. It has a good layout, and even if all the rooms are occupied there was enough place in the shared space for everyone. The hosts are very nice people, who answer all the questions very quickly, and were always ready to help. ^^

The house is a little far from grocery stores and restaurants. You will need to plan to pick up food from a convenience store some distance away.

Wonderful hostel, very convenient for henro pilgrims travelling through Zentsuji. The dorm space is very comfortable. Clean with modern showers, a full kitchen and laundry available. Helpful staff who quickly resolved a miscommunication about the room booking.

Location is very convenient, near T74, however with very limited shopping and dining options nearby.

The facility is superb, and owner is very nice and thoughtful, attractive to just everything, very responsive in replying messages too, with good English.

A little confusing to get into the building at first but instructions were sent before arrival and if you properly read them (which I didn’t initially) you’ll find it easy enough to make your way inside.

Awesome combination of old countryside Japanese aesthetics with stylish modern refurbishments throughout. Best of both worlds.
