Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Mr. Wan was very attentive and helpful, and even gave us some great food recommendations. The house has a shared space with a washing machine, which is really useful after several days of traveling. Our room was spacious enough for two friends or a couple like us to stay comfortably, and everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the house provided all the facilities we needed. The location is also convenient, about a 20-minute walk from a main attraction and food area, and only 5 minutes from the nearest metro stop. Overall, a great value for money! And don’t miss Mr. Wan’s amazing cold brew — much better than wasting money at a random Seven Eleven, his coffee is absolutely delicious.

The manager and his family are very friendly and helpful. Big room, very comfortable. The location is great, walking distance (15-20 minutes) from Osaka Namba and Dotonbori. Close to Daikokucho station and many amenities such as restaurants and convenience stores

As in any other larger Japanese city, bring ear plugs with you - the traditional style of rooms comes with slight noise from other apartments.
The room has basic equipment and is spacious, definitely huge compared to other Japanese accommodations. Very comfortable beds, you will feel like on a firm cloud with very comfortable blankets. Most importantly, the room was very clean including a decently specced bathroom. Washing machine, small kitchen on-site. Did not use it though it seems like all you would need. Location is very convenient if you are interested in visiting the city center or places like Tsutenkaku, but mind that there is not that much to see in the neighbourhood. You can get here pretty easily by metro, though mind that it is 5-10 minutes walk - great to have in mind when in rain or after a looong walking day. Let's not forget the personal touch this place has! Mr. Wang is an amazing and very helpful host. And what's more, he can give you an amazing coffee if you need. And this is not an overstatement - he is a coffee aficionado, always sourcing a very good ground coffee and an onsen water.

Mr Wang was an exceptional host, helping us carry our bags on the stairs and then personally accompanying us to the station to catch the airport train.

My friend and I stayed here on the first night of our Japan trip and had a really nice experience! Our plane was delayed so we arrived very late - after midnight. The owner waited for us and made sure we had a great check-in experience. He was very accommodating, friendly and available for anything. The apartment's location is great and we were really impressed by the cleanliness of the place!

None. Would recommend for solo travellers and families
The hotel manager, Mr Wang was super welcoming and helpful. His knowledge of the local area was truly valuable. The bathroom was super clean, and the futons were very comfortable. There is a shared kitchen and the laundry facility was very useful and convenient.

Mr Wang is the best host I’ve ever met. He goes well above and beyond to help his guests. My friend left belongings at the room after we had left the city. Mr Wang notified us and even posted the belongings to our next hotel destination. What a legend! Will definitely be staying here again when I’m back in Osaka. Thank you Mr Wang!

Wang was such a wonderful host and couldn't do enough to help. A lovely welcome and a comfortable, conveniently located stay near Namba station - perfect for travel to/from the airport.

Wang is an exceptional host— from check-in, helping us carry our luggages up, to complimentary coffee and good conversation to accommodating late check out and guiding us to the airport post check-out. We only stayed for a night, but the room was clean and comfortable with a superior location that’s only a 5-minute walk to the Daikokucho station and a 10-minute walk to Namba station. 10/10 recommend.

We could hear the street at night.
Wang is the best host we've ever had in any of our travels! He was extremely helpful with recommendations and our luggage, and was outstandingly accommodating and made us feel at home. The location was great and the room was very comfortable.
