Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing they can really do. We had two adjoining rooms. Our two sons' twin room was a pretty decent size whereas the double room was pretty tight. It's a Tokyo/Yokohama thing but just don't expect huge space.
It was very close to Yokohama station although trying to fid your way in and out of Tokyo/Yokohama train stations requires an astro-physics degree and level of patience beyond parenting the average teenager. The staff were friendly and looked after our luggage until we came back later in the day. They also had free to use pjs which was really helpful to save opening up suitcases etc.

SingaporeQuite expensive considering it wasn't Tokyo!
Excellent location, so close to Yokohama station. Looking over the train tracks but they were barely audible.

Super nice and comfortable place! Extremely clean and great facilities. We didn’t have much contact with the staff but when we checked in and checked out they seemed lovely! In a good location close to everything

New ZealandTrain noise, half of the building overlooks the very busy train line coming out of the station This is the "quiet" side of Yokohama station, not a big deal as we sometimes appreciated the lower foot traffic
We got connecting rooms, enough space for 2 + 3 kids The facility inside the room was Okay, JP business hotel like Walking distance to Yokohama station, i think the station NE entrance is 100m to 200m

AustraliaDue to normal size of Japanese hotel room, it might be a bit tricky opening up suitcases. Sotetsu hotels normally recommend putting suitcases underneath the bed so a bit cumbersome to drag it out or put it back underneath the bed.
Standard Sotetsu chain hotels. The location is steps away from Yokohama station, so it's very convenient for all types of traveler who wants to use Yokohama as their base e.g. to explore Minato Mirai or Kanagawa prefecture. Perfect for anyone going to concert at K-Arena too.

New ZealandThe rooms are very small (as expected) so a king-size bed is not really best use of the space. A double or queen size would give a little more room space. Also the very small pyjama's were very strange & almost useless! :)
Location was good, staff very helpful, & rooms very clean.

JapanThe windows face the train tracks so you can hear the trains even from the higher floors. You can also hear people in the rooms next door which made it harder to sleep.
Location is everything with this hotel! It is RIGHT there once you figure out the correct exit to use. Very convenient location and check in and check out were very easy. They also had nice amenities available in the lobby to use as needed. I appreciated the coin laundry availability too!

IndiaThe location is very close to the North East Exit, of Yokohama station. But the hotel has the railway line in the front and the 6 -7 story high Tokyo Yokohama Raised Expressway, with large vehicular flow and noise.
Staff were very helpful. Breakfast is decent. But the same three set of fixed items and the portion was rather small at the branded cafe called Beck's.

United StatesNo lounge area in the lobby. The hotel faced the train tracks which is busy and noisy but not much of an issue as we were out and about most of the day.
Close proximity to Yokohama Station the two twin room was very spacious. The layout of the beds and couch was comfortable and functional. We liked the toilet in a separate room.

AustraliaRooms were on the smaller end but it's reasonable for the price. The size of the rooms didn't negatively affect my experience at this hotel.
This was my second time staying at this hotel. It's within walkable distance from the Yokohama station and K-Arena (the main purpose of my stay). There were enough amenities to choose from. There is also a Family Mart downstairs. Staff are friendly and can speak English without much problems.

PhilippinesLobby is a bit small but no problem if you won't use it during your stay. Like not enough room to pack/unpack in case you need to before flying out or transferring to your next hotel.
Location is near the station but you will be on the other side of all the restaurants and other establishments. There are pros and cons with that. Pros are the area where you are is more quiet, not very busy at night, and not close to any bar so no drunk people near. Cons is if you want to go visit those restaurants, stores and shopping area - be ready to walk. There is a convenience store and restaurant attached to the hotel which is a plus.

Deluxe Twin was spacious with a sofa. There was a full Japanese-style bathroom (Ofuro) and a separate toilet. The hotel was sandwiched between the railway line and multiple highways, but we heard no traffic noise. Good amenities were supplied. Family Mart was internally connected to the hotel, so it was very convenient.
