Everything was nice except our room smelling like fish… It stayed from the monent we entered until the end and later all of our things smelled the same. we couldnt get the smell out with ac or having the door open over longer periods. It was only in our room for some reason.

As far as hostels go, this was amazing. Just be prepared to be very close with 3 other people in bunk beds, and to share the very small showers. The location was amazing though and the staff were friendly. If you're expecting a hostel there is nothing to complain about, perfect.

No onsite staff. We had difficulty with the online check in because of a glitch in the booking and couldn’t change it ourselves. Waited over an hour to finally get in. Had done issues with the upstairs showers leaking to the first floor a water was all over the kitchen floor. Notified the staff that water had flooded the kitchen floor but no one was there so my husband took towels and soaked up all the water. We don’t mind doing these things but it was a little inconvenient. I am hoping all the dishes in the kitchen that were showered with the dirty water were throughly cleaned but I didn’t see whether the counters and dishes were cleaned as well. I only wiped up water.

Getting up off the floor was hard, rooms lacked sufficient outlets though extension cords were provided. The tatami had an off-putting smell. Not fresh like I’ve experienced before.

Great place to stay and get to meet people from everywhere (s.o Kye and Tyler). The location is really good approx. 15 min walk from the Osaka station and 10 from the Zenkō-ji in a lively neighborhood. Amenities are great, kitchen and showers very clean and practical. There also is a lot of recommendations on what to do in and around Nagano at your disposal. Seemed and felt safe and secure. Thank you for having me.

Lovely small accommodation in the heart of Nagano city. Great access to all the shops and restaurants nearby the Zenkōji temple, and easy walk to and from the train station (including access to Snow Monkey Park express bus).

Our stay was in February and the room we were in and the toilet was very cold! Would have been perfect in summer but quite uncomfortable in winter due to how cold it was despite a heater in the room!

There was a power cut in the early morning (before sun rise). It was very cold outside and there was no hot water, no light, no heater etc.. In such emergency situation no one was there and even when we called and sent message no one responded. Around 8:30 am when we checked out there was still no power.

The traditional Japanese house has beautiful architecture but suffers from poor insulation. Room 102 is particularly problematic: the thin walls and covered window facing the entrance make it susceptible to guest noise, especially when they walk-in/out / remove their shoes. The cold draft overpowers the heating system. The duvet is notably short for taller guests (inadequate for someone 1.84m/6ft). While the accommodation has charm, your experience heavily depends on other guests' courtesy – which was lacking during our stay.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The beautiful, traditional Japanese house is very well maintained with excellent shared amenities. Its central location provides easy access to all attractions, and the owner is very friendly.

The hostel was brand new at the time of our stay and everything was extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen was well stocked with enough space for multiple people to cook a meal. We had a heater/air-conditioner in our room which kept us warm and the whole hostel was well heated. Overall was good value for money and we enjoyed our stay!

The windows of the room are all broken. The lock of the doors is very annoying as it makes a loud sound every time you leave or enter the room for just going to the restroom.

We booked the double twin room and loved the traditional tatami floors. Simple, clean, comfortable and it was fully equipped with air and heat. The showers were perfect for the amount of rooms, 3 showers with individual doors. The location was incredible!!! We would love to stay again in the future!
