Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room is too tiny to pop up a 28-32 inch luggage.
Most facilities you can think of are available. Most importantly the stay comes with breakfast and hot spring. Recipients are friendly and helpful. Though the location is not that good, a bit far away from station, the hotel is cozy and worths it.

CanadaWomen's onsen was a bit small, but it was usually empty so that was ok.
Close to the station and some restaurants in the area. Love the pillow selection. Good sized room for a budget hotel.

PolandThe location was perfect, close to metro station, many conbinis around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, a lot to choose from, food and drinks. The onsen was also a plus. The hotel is big, however, there were never queues to the elevator or any loud noises from the guests.

JapanThe rooms are not soundproof, so for a couple of nights it was quite loud. The bath - onsen only had three showers and was small and one shower didn't work. Although it was very clean and comfortable.
It was in a good location to Sendai station. You can choose your own pillow and the bed is very comfy with black out blinds! There was a free bar from 5-8pm this was great.

JapanThe room and bathroom is very small; the sound-proof was ok that I could hear the hallway and next rooms. The hot spring is small, so finding the right timing could be challenging.
Breakfast was simple but good enough, and the location is very convenient to catch bus/subway. The hot spring is a plus.

Czech RepublicVery nice hotel near the shopping and night life streets, though very calm and comfortable. What I would point out is the option of choosing your pillow, the onsen you can use freely (separate under pin code baths for women) and nicely put thought into environment. Overall very nice and close to everything (JR station and “combini” included) for a good price.

They had free drinks on the afternoon, a hot spring, and breakfast was included. It has an entrance to the metro very close by and the main station is 15 min walking.

NetherlandsThe onsen was crowded at times.
The location is great: walking distance from the JR station, close to the shopping and dining streets, and the 'Loople' tourist bus stop is just across the road. . Let me repeat that: *the 'Loople' tourist bus stop is across the road* We didn't realize this, because Google Maps failed to show that option as a public transportation route. We walked all the way to the Masamune Date grave in excruciating heat. I want to spare you the trouble: just hop on the Loople bus. XD Also: use their pillow service to make sure you're comfortable.

NetherlandsI honestly can't think of anything... Maybe the thin walls? Oh, and 1 wall had some sort of splatter (1), I made sure to stay away from that...
Loved the atmosphere. The location is really close to the trainstation and quite easy to find. The staff is very helpful and I'm pretty sure use magic to get it all done. Food was great, amenities awesome, room was nice and clean. The fact that they give you tiny gifts is downright cute! It really is a super hotel.

JapanThe room is small and there is no view from the window since the hotel building is surrounded by taller buildings
The hotel is at the main road and it is an easy 10 mnts walk from sendai station. We need to get our own amenities when check in and you can take soaps lotions and also bath salt as much as you want. The breakfast is a self service buffet, meaning you need to clean up after eating. I love the bakery!

JapanI've stayed in the past and thought there were in-room air purifiers and no carpeted floor. This time there was carpet and no purifier and it smelled a bit musty. I really wish there weren't carpet given Japan's humid climate. I opened the window to air it out though it's winter so gets cold. The default pillow isn't great for side sleepers (hard plastic beads) so recommend getting a low rebound one by the front desk.
It's a well thought out and equipped hotel in the heart of the city. I appreciated the dual elevators as there was never a wait. Breakfast was good as always and varied a bit each day. It's an easy walk from there to Kokubuncho, the nightlife area, and Sendai Station. If you're there from mid-December definitely checkout the Starlight Pageant illumination on Jozenji dori a few blocks to the north. There's a paid parking lot next door though it isn't cheap- I think it cost me 4200 yen for an overnight stay.

SingaporePillows....one isn't enough. Rooms are small but we managed it.
We enjoyed the evening drinks/cocktails for guests. It's such a welcome after a long day of sightseeing & walkabout. Breakfast was more than adequate. Housekeeping was excellent. Entire staff was both pleasant & accommodating. Room & toilet amenities were more than adequate. Location is fantastic. Close to subway and walking distance to shopping, eateries, Aobadori Avenue etc. Will stay here again.
