How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Quiet location, although close to the train station. Good breakfast - Western and Japanese style are available at a breakfast buffet and you can mix as you like.

The room we got was located right next to the onsen on the 2nd floor and was not the best. I think I paid way too much (I think one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel) to be so close to all the foot traffic that went back and forth to and from onsen. Onsen was so busy that we simply were not able to use it. Not sure if it is open to public? Apparently there were all kinds of creams and lotions available for guests at the reception, but were never offered or told that we can ask for anything. It was also very humid in the rooms as well and might be cause of the onsen being right next door.
The location of the hotel is great if you need to be by the train station. Otherwise it is a walk to everything else. The breakfast was amazing and much better than we expected.

The room is a bit small and it may be difficult to open 2 big suitcases simultaneously
We are very grateful for the responsive and helpful hotel customer service who replied speedily and even asked us to take care due to our flight and train delays. Excellent location — only 5 mins walk to train station. Clean and modern rooms. The washing machine and mini kitchen inside the room are very useful and convenient. The tv inside the room shows real-time usage situations of the onsen and washing machines in the common area.

The Onsen was great! The Milky water was so relaxing I didn’t want to get out. Loved that they had breakfast, afternoon drink and a light dinner. Everything was delicious! The hotel was clean, spacious and in a great location, very close to the station. The staff were very helpful with Yamato and everything else. Would totally stay here again.

Excellent hôtel with very comfortable beds. Rooms are very good size and super clean. The onsen was hot and nice and after a good visit of the city, it’s very relaxing to soend the night there.

Free coffee only available in the morning. 😆But not a big problem at all.

The onsen was okay, but they need more signage to tell foreigners (which I am) what to do in the onsen in large lettering in English. I witnessed an elderly woman part of a big tour group go into the bathing area fully clothed to "check it out"!
Good location close to the station, and really great value for money - clean, large room at a much lower cost than we paid elsewhere in Japan.

Amazing location. Right next to the station. Like a 200m walk. Hotel by itself is very spacious and has an insane bath. It also has a vending machine on the 2nd floor, as well as free massage chairs. The city by itself is also very charismatic. Anyone travelling JP - I highly recommend this place

This was my second stay at this hotel as I had a good stay last time. As I expected, the room was clean, space efficient, and facility we needed including a washing machine. I really liked their onsen so I took the onsen twice during only one night stay. I like the feature on their room TV’s home screen where we can tell how crowded the onsen is real time. This hotel is in a walking distant to main streets of Matsumoto where you can find many shops and restaurants, and also visit the castle.

Our room looked out onto a tall cement building that was very brightly lit at night. We used eye masks. The bathroom light came on automatically which wasn't good when we needed to use it in the middle of the night. Beds were very firm.
This hotel had everything we needed and friendly, helpful staff. My husband enjoyed the onsen and PJs. I found the days too hot to want to use the onsen. The hotel doesn't have it's own parking but we could get a bit of a discount on the parkade across the street. Breakfast buffet was convenient and plentiful with options for many tastes. The hotel is an easy walk to the train station, restaurants, and even Matsumoto castle wasn't far.
