Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThe lamp beside my bed didn't work. The bedside table had a panel on the side with a lot of switches labelled in tiny kanji, some of which controlled the ceiling lights, but when it was dark I couldn't see the labels to know which ones were for the lights, and there were so many switches that I couldn't just press one at random in case I accidentally turned off something important. So to get any light in the room in the mornings, I had to get out of bed and squat on the floor next to the panel of switches, using my phone as a torch to read the labels. There was also an old radio/alarm system built into the bedside table, but it was broken, I couldn't turn it off, and it flashed a red light constantly, which made it hard to get to sleep. The toilet seat changed temperature at random - sometimes it was unheated, and sometimes it was so hot it was uncomfortable to use. Trash from other guests was left under the furniture. I shared the room with a lot of little spiders.
The beachfront location was great, and the room was huge for how much I paid for it. I liked the enormous desk and the multiple enormous mirrors, too! I've stayed in a lot of very compact accommodation in Japan, so it was a welcome change having that much space to myself. I liked the old-fashioned interior design of the annex building.

AustraliaBe aware that the amazing Sand Sculpture, which is also just a short walk away, is only really visible from a lookout up on the hill. You won't see anything from the ground.
Simple and fairly basic, but fine for an overnight stop. The in-house restaurant was closed for some reason, but we found a fantastic restaurant just a couple of blocks away in the middle of a suburban precinct. Only a short walk to the beach and an ideal viewpoint for the sunset, weather permitting.

SingaporeLocation not convenient unless you drive or cycle, which we did. Nothing nearby except a park. Had to eat the Chinese food at the attached restaurant, lucky wasn't too expensive. Only had drink vending machines if needed.
Room was big. Free coke zero available at lobby.

CanadaIt was a bit strange that the rooms were in a separate building (about 10 steps out the side door but it's not covered). Although the room was fine, the furnishings were quite outdated (linens seemed new and clean though). The main halls (of the building with the rooms) smelled a bit funny (either needs some updating and/or a deep clean). The carpet in the elevator could probably be replaced to give it a cleaner, more modern feel. The key chain on the room key MASSIVE. You will not be tucking it anywhere for a walk or a run.
The location is right next to the Kotohiki Park with the Zenigata Sunae and a 2 minute walk to tbe beach. The staff was extremly friendly and two different staff members went above and beyond to help us. We needed to call our car rental company and one gave us their personal cell phone to use. For some reason there is no wifi in the lobby and another let me use their cell phone as a hot spot (the rooms are in the building next door and the wifi worked fine there). The rooms are large and there is lots of parking. We enjoyed a meal at the restaurant which included a free drink each.

AustraliaThere was a cabbage smell in the room that remained, and we could not open the windows. Fortunately, you get used to the smell
The Facilites in the room, the spaciousness and the layout of the rooms and the view to the park and the ocean. We enjoyed the enclosed balcony and used the space to sit when we stayed in.
