    Extraordinary Onsen Ryokan

This Onsen Ryokan is truly extraordinary. The hospitality at this place is on a level most hoteliers only can dream of. All team members are extremely polite, friendly and always one step ahead. The perfection of each encounter, the impeccable appearance of the team members and the pride they all take in what they do is moving. From the warm welcome as our taxi arrived to the time we had to leave, we really could not have asked for more. The hotel has numerous tranquil common spaces, for example a foot bath terrace by a waterfall and two libraries. The onsen bath is a wonderful experience. The breakfast and dinner selection takes you all the way into Japanese and local Kanazawa cuisine. We had a suite facing the garden and the fish in the pond could be fed from our balcony. The room category included a lounge with dedicated seating, open all evening and shared with just one other room in the hotel. The Takitei riverside onsen experience is hard to describe briefly, you just have to experience this yourself. Highly recommended.

The amount of food served was almost too much. It was all delicious but the quantity and number of different types of food was unusual for me. We stayed two nights and had breakfast and dinner for both nights.. Next time i would probably only do one day with food and the other day with just the room.

So much great traditional Japanese food !! The person bringing in all the food, the outside area that you could view from the table.

Exceptional service, amenities, food, everything. Private onsen was magical. Very accommodating with dietary restrictions. Lots of things to do around the property - massage chairs, foot bath, books, multiple lounges with free snacks. Many staff don’t speak English but everything was fine with Google translate. Highlight of our trip to Japan.

Staff had been amazing, the garden so beautiful. We had very relaxing time sitting in the terrace or having a foot bath looking at the waterfall. Huge thank you to the manager for the whole experience.

We were told that staff at the information center at the Kanazawa station could call to let them know when we would be boarding the bus to the Sue bus stop. The staff did not know anything about this but were able to assist. It was confusing to figure out which bus to take but with help from the information window we figured it out. It was a bit of a bus ride - about 25-30 minutes. We had the staff arrange a taxi for our return to the Kanazawa station the next day.

We LOVED this ryokan, beautiful inn tucked away next to a river and waterfall. Lovely gardens. We had our own private onsen in our room where we could watch the waterfall - amazing! We very much enjoyed the included dinner and breakfast - fantastic fresh fish and creative dishes. Good communication with the staff with questions of how to get to this more remote ryokan from Kanazawa. So many extras - reading rooms/libraries, coffee and tea stations, evening wine and tea. Several staff able to speak some English which was a bonus.

Super friendly staff, fantastic service. And the food served - be very hungry before the meal, it's good, giving You a full overview of the Japanese kitchen. To be honest, it's not a meal, it's an experience

Excellent stay at Takitei, the best of our trip to Japan in April 2025. Warm hospitality throughout, complete with very delectable dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend the Japanese style room with private onsen, you can even feed the koi fishes from the room. The room also had views of the private garden with the cherry blossoms, making it a very dreamy scene. Dinner and breakfast were on point, and there's even complimentary drinks in the evening and noodles at night. I don't think any other hotel room or hospitality can top this, would definitely return to stay in the future.t
