Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South KoreaPillows were really not comfortable.
Hotel which doesnt impress on first site. But it has a lot of great things going for it! Location: you can ski to the slopes and ski back to the hotel. There is a great onsen! Absolutely adored soaking in the hot water after a long day skiing. The breakfast is Japanese style with some bread possibilities. But it is healthy and good. The hotel is at walking distance to some nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. We stayed in a Japanese style family bedroom and slept on futons. It was nice overly comfortable, but nevertheless a lovely experience. Great value for money!

United StatesThe building is older and doesn't look like much from outside, but the rooms appear recently remodeled, very nice inside, comfortable and quiet.
Fantastic location. Ski in ski out. Walking distance from Hirafu welcome center and in town. I loved my in room private onsen with a view of ski slopes in Niseko. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They held luggage for me when I arrived early so I could ski, they have changing rooms, storage lockers, ski lockers, and large wonderful public onsen that was never crowded.

AustraliaSome extra hooks in the bathroom for towels would be handy. The Prince is starting to show it's age, but is very clean and comfortable.
We loved the private Onsen - so nice to come into after a day on the snow. Our deal included buffet breakfast which I'd recommend. Staff very obliging and friendly. There's no longer a bar at the hotel (used to be), plenty of nearby options. We have stayed here several times and the main attraction is both the public and private Onsens.

AustraliaBuffet breakfast didn’t have many good options. It was disappointing. Suggestion would be , given we are in Japan, to include a ramen /udon station for chef to provide to guests on order similar to the egg station. Hotel is quite dated, a refresh and refurbishment would give it a good lift. There is a foul sewage smell outside the hotel on the ski field side.
Helpful and friendly staff. Large clean onsen. Convenience of ski in and ski out.

AustraliaIt's a bit old/tired compared to the other hotels in Niseko.
Ski in and out location was a major plus. There aren't that many ski in/out properties in Niseko. The hotel is also great value for money for location. The breakfasts were excellent. Close to numerous food/dingins options.

We stayed in a room with a private onsen that was incredible. The onsen had a view of mt. yotei and was very comfortable. The room was spacious and clean! The location cannot be beat. Ski in/out with spacious ski lockers for each room!! Also very close to the Hirafu welcome center and walking distance to lots of restaurants

SingaporeThe flight of steps leading to the ski locker but I guess it can’t be helped. Mattresses are a bit soft resulting in backaches. Bathroom is chilly because of the direct connection to the Onsen that has a window.
In room Onsen was the best part of the stay. The almost ski in ski out next to the family lift was really convenient. Staff were really helpful. Washer, dryer and microwave are available at the reception. Sports massage was excellent.

SingaporeSki locker rooms have quite steep and narrow stairs which are difficult to navigate in ski boots and ski gear, but there is an exit-level floor with seats to put on equipment if this is a major concern. The locker rooms are attached to the main building but only accessible via outside sheltered walkway, also involving stairs albeit less steep. We did not access the public onsen baths (we were more than happy with our in-room onsen!) The food is buffet style at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was included and was plentiful. Lots of seating available, with views of the Family slope. Dinner was in the same room and also buffet style, we paid 5000 JPY per person at the dinner reception. The food was not really worth the price (e..g salmon is a local specialty but was definitely overcooked), but was a convenient option instead of leaving the hotel.
Location was excellent, ski-in ski-out to the green Family quad lift, just above the ski pass shop. Short hill walk to the main street with restaurants and food vans. The Family lift and slope is also accessible late into the evening for night skiing so less of a concern when timing our exploration to get home. We very rarely had to wait for any lifts across all 4 ski areas, although we did hear from staff and other skiers that there are very long queues during peak Christmas/New Year holidays. March was beautiful weather with snow almost daily (usually overnight), with bluebird days, so we enjoyed powder snow skiing plus excellent views of Mt Yotei from our hotel room and from the ski slopes. Hirafu area was the best of the 4 areas in terms of ski slope variety and lift accessibility, and I'm very happy to have booked our stay here for our first Niseko ski holiday! The front staff were friendly and helpful, providing recommendations on ski passes and slopes for different abilities. The hotel provides discounted ski pass ticket which must then be exchanged for the actual pass at the ski pass shop. They were also very kind to gift us a bottle of sparkling wine for our honeymoon stay and ensured we had one of the best newly refurbished Western style rooms. The price of our stay was excellent for ski-in ski-out and in-room onsen! The room was huge with a sofa, two super-single/small double beds, and a tatami area presumable for adding a futon if required for more guests. We had full-length glass windows and two in-room private onsen baths with magnificent views of Mt Yotei. One was a foot bath with a ledge and cushions to sit on and no attached and the other a normal onsen tub with attached shower. The tubs were clean and the water is drawn from real hot springs from Mt Annupuri with a slight mineral smell. Soaking in the hot tub after a long ski day and enjoying the sunset view of Mt Yotei was definitely one of the highlights of our stay!
