Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe arrived 2 hours before the official check in. Since it was raining, we asked if we could already check in and go to our tent. Although the tent was already prepared, we could’ve only checked in earlier by paying 1000 YEN per hour. We weren’t ready to pay extra so we could stay at a covered terrace but we did not really understand since the tent was fully prepared.
Very comfortable stay and well-prepared BBQ and breakfast sets. The view is really cool!

AustraliaPerhaps the lights could be turned off after 10. It was very light through the tent during the night.
The ambience was beautiful. Loved the evening meal cooking. Plenty of food and organised well.

United KingdomReally lovely place to stay. It is a shame there are big tankers in the bay. And the festoon lighting looks extremely pretty but makes the tents quite light through the night. A good base for Naoshima.

NetherlandsThat you had to bbq every evening and it was a lot of meat. Could be nice to choose, something different for dinner. Drinks are very pricy. But you don’t have a fridge so you don’t have much choice.
The way it was set in the hill. Very private.

NetherlandsNothing, all good.
The glamping promise was fully met. Luxury tent with normal beds, the prepared BBQ at the balcony (!!!) under the tent and the dinner and breakfast. And not to forget a great view on the sea and the sound of waves bringing you to sleep. Highly recommended place to book.

The view was amazing and the barrel sauna was an excellent touch. The staff prepare a beautiful breakfast and a really fresh barbecue for you every night with instructions. This was a real highlight and was very interactive and fun.

United KingdomIt's glamping so 40 paces to the sanitary block which was spotless. But that's to be expected! Beds rather soft for Japan , could do with firmer beds and mattress toppers maybe.
It's a lovely location and the BBQ idea and bar were lovely, a welcome change from city hotels. Attentive staff despite some heavy rain they made sure we were ok.

DenmarkOnly small thing was that the coal for the grill on day 2 and 3 were extremely bad so it took us almost 2 hours to get all the food grilled.
A very charming place. They view over the sea was amazing and the staff very friendly. They did not speak English but we managed fine with Google Translate. Very delicious dinner with plenty of food. Breakfast was fine, though japanese breakfast was a bit hard for us to eat. The beach was with small rocks but it suited fine enough.

AustraliaDinner hamper only available an hour after we asked for it and we had to go back twice to collect it, perhaps notify them your dinner time in writing prior to arrival. They were unable to keep my medication in their fridge for me overnight but did provide ice, this may have been a miscommunication, again, suggest communicating any needs in writing prior to arrival.
Wonderful location, exceptional facilities for glamping. Dinner hamper was delicious and easy to cook, breakfast hamper was very cute. Nice staff and good bar.

CanadaI don’t like that during the day - there were sea-doos constantly going back and forth creating a lot of noise pollution. It is also a shame that engines of the bigger boats and ships nearby but out in the sea creates noise pollution to a point where I can’t hear the waves which is the point of being by the beach.
The location is not bad. The washrooms and showers were clean. The beds were comfortable. The AC was working well and projects no noise inside the tent. The food provided was good. Staff was good.

JapanThe pillows could be a bit thicker, but that's just my personal preference. There really wasn't anything I didn't like at this place.
The breakfast was lovely. Each day it was something different, croissants and bagels, or french toast. It was all paired with a salad, some fruit, yogurt and delicious soup to start the day. It all came in a basket with a mat and a small table for you to picnic by the beach. The location is beautiful. The tents overlooking the ocean with the boats coming and going, plus the view of the islands connected by the bridged. Fantastic place for a getaway.

United StatesNo complaints!
Absolutely magical experience staying here! Beautiful glamping experience. Gorgeous views of the coast and surrounding mountains, comfortable beds, spacious tent, good working air conditioning and heating within the tent. The provided BBQ dinner was delicious as well as the breakfast (which was different both days of or stay). A beautiful peaceful place in Japan. Easy to access via public transport. We took a direct bus from Okayama Station to the Marine Hote (takes about 90 mins and costs 1000 Japanese yen) l and walked along the water for 5 or so minutes. Staff had limited English but used a translation device to communicate so no issues with communication. There's a bar on site to order drinks. Perfect stay for a family of 4 (we had two kids ages 2.5 and 4.5 years old) At night the staff also sets up a bonfire for you!

JapanSecond time here and already looking forward to the next! The location is extraordinary, far enough from the city to feel immersed in nature and convenient enough to easily catch a bus to Uno port and move around with public transportation! Given the quality and the amount of food they provide for dinner and breakfast the price is more than fair. Facilities are stunning and the scenery is breathtaking. I couldn’t recommend it more.

We loved to have a quiet option in the area. We stayed 2 nights with friends and it was perfect . From there there are local buses to get to the ferry for the islands They give you a set for bbq to prepare yourself and also breakfast. It was the best decision to stay here

IsraelWe arrived with the bus after a long day in Naoshima and were thrilled with our glamping experience! The tent offered a stunning ocean view and was well-organized and clean, complete with a real bed, blankets, air conditioning, flippers, and towels. We enjoyed the sauna, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious. I highly recommend staying for at least one night!!
