The location is unbeatable. The rooms are incredibly clean and spacious. The bathrooms are freshly renovated; they are functional and look really lovely. It was so nice to come home to the cool AC after some really hot days in the beautiful village of Myoko.

We had an amazing stay at The Address. After an initial mix-up with the booking (The Address has a brand-new sister hotel called Matsuya) we got the brilliant Tatami family room with its own onsen. The most spacious and most comfortable room I've stayed in in Japan. The Address is right in the middle of Akakura Onsen main street directly opposite the convenience store so it's a 5 minute walk to the nearest chairlift and all the rental shops and bars. John is a fantastic and generous host who can't do enough for his guests, there's always a warm welcome at the bar, but be wary of the sake if you're skiing the next day. Thanks John, we'll definitely be back.

Great location…short walk to ski lifts Having an onsen in the hotel was a life saver

For the price breakfast should be included Appreciate it’s not a ski lodge but no effort to encourage a social space for guests - which would be nice at a ski hotel

The room and bathroom was very new. The bathroom facilities excellent - but the hotel was far from finished and considering the rooms had only been made habitable, the cost of this stay was hugely dis-proportionate for what we received. The front door to the hotel came off the runners into my hands. Amanada was excellent, but facilities just not finished.

A half-built hotel/refurbishment. Just not what I would have expected for the cost. In the room was two beds, one bedside table, a TV and two coat hangers.....that's it. Amanda local Manager was excellent & friendly.

I chose The Address Hotel in Akakura based on the wealth of glowing reviews across Google, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor—and I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation. From the very beginning, the communication was flawless. John, the owner, was nothing short of exceptional. His attentive support both before and during our trip made our experience truly unforgettable. The hotel itself is immaculate, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. But what truly sets this place apart is John’s personal touch. His dedication to ensuring guests have the best possible experience is unparalleled. He went above and beyond by personally collecting us from Myokokogen Station and remained available throughout our stay, offering invaluable advice and support via WhatsApp whenever needed. John also owns The Matsuya in Akakura, which is undergoing exciting renovations this summer—no doubt it will be another top-tier destination by Winter 2025/26. Thank you, John, for making our holiday truly extraordinary. We can’t wait to return!

Take your own Beach Towel from home as the towels in Japan are quite small and you will use the Onsen (Hot Spring Spa) at the hotel often

Property was conveniently located on the Main Street of Myoko Ski Area, with eateries/ pubs and amenities within walking distance. Walking distance to some ski resorts as well (10min walk)

    Everything was great!

Fantastic location on the main street, right next door to the major ski hire centre and minutes from the ski lifts. The staff were super friendly and helpful, particularly when trying to locate our luggage forward shipped from Tokyo - no fault of their own. The western rooms were large by Japanese standards and well-equipped.

If you are a light sleeper, take ear plugs as the snow clearers rattle down the street throughout the night. Not a complaint - as we were treated to awesome snow the next day! Quite pricey but we loved every minute.

The location is along the main street, very close to rental shops, the base lift, convenient stores, and restaurants. The hotel owner/manager John is very friendly and helpful. There is space in the basement for storing ski equipment, which is nice.

Since it's a small hotel, the meal choice is limited to simple breakfast and one-dish dinner. Nevertheless, availability of the breakfast was quite helpful to me.

The beds were very comfortable, we paid for the breakfast option and the food and coffee was just right every morning. Clean facilities, the staff was always there to assist if we had questions. The shuttle only takes you to Suginohara, Akakura Kanko and Ikenotaira. But if you give them advance notice, they can come get you when you’re done skiing for the day, it’s a wonderful amenity! The Onsen in the property is delightful as well, much needed after skiing all day. The location is perfect for walking anywhere, rentals, food, local buses stops and the convenience store. The front desk has all the information needed to get to know the town easily and find your way around. One of the best ski properties I’ve ever stayed at in Japan!

    Can’t think of anything!

We stayed a week in mid January (2025) and had a great time at the Address Akakura. The rooms were very clean and the ability to cook or have a light breakfast in the room was a bonus. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very spacious. Little things like having heating you could control, plenty of storage and hanging space and a good sized bathroom were nice touches (you don't get these things in every Akakura hotel from experience). Johnny was a lovely host who helped us to book restaurants and other day activities when needed. We would definitely stay again and appreciated how central to everything the hotel was! Thanks for a memorable stay.

A little noisy in winter when the road clearing happens (nothing to do with the hotel and would impact many of the Akakura Hotels).
