The beds are classic Japanese style, so a little hard for us. But that is the only thing to not like about The General!

The breakfast was delicious and varied each day. They use the lounge for an extra common space for guests with complimentary drinks available all day. Great touch!

Could not complain about a thing! I almost want to keep this place a secret just for us. Amazing facilities and staff. An incredible lounge with free snacks and drinks that are switched throughout the day. Great atmosphere. Fabulous bathrooms. Location is perfectly central. We loved it.

Everything!! It is the best stay I have had in years. The stuff is always prompt to help, the hotel is extremely clean and there are amenities I have never seen before in a hotel such as a hair straightener and curler. Oh and they have a lounge where you can a get a free coffee or refreshment and snacks!

Though not the most luxurious accommodations, the value for quality exceeded expectations. Modern amenities highly appreciated by my American encultured adult children. Location central to many excursions. Highly recommend!

The place looks great and classy, there is a small lounge where you can eat and drink something at no cost. The location is great, surrounded by small and cool restaurants. The staff is super friendly, the linens and pijamas are a delight! Close to the train and bus station (5-minute walk).

Friendly staff, lounge access, good location, and most of all the facilities were clean and relatively new. Very comfortable beds. Also liked that we can walk to a variety of restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The room had everything you needed, great bathroom and comfortable beds. It was in a good location and the staff were friendly and professional. The lounge with free drinks and snacks was a lovely touch.

The position was perfect. The hotel was fabulous and the room was very big! They also offer a lot of services. The breakfast was fantastic and the lounge was open until 22;00 and you could have snacks and drinks whenever you want. The staff is so kind and they also have a loundry room so easy to use. I strongly recommend this hotel!!

We are so pleasantly surprised by how clean, upscale, comfortable, and beautiful this hotel was. They even have a lounge with free drinks and snacks during the day which we thought was such a sweet addition the rooms are very clean, Bright, spacious and comfortable. they also have laundry facilities on site which was such a helpful aspect. This was definitely the best hotel we stayed at in Japan and will definitely be back, as well as recommend it to all our friends.

We loved our stay at the General!! The room was spacious and really well designed. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom modern and very clean. Each afternoon there were complimentary drinks and snacks in the lounge. The property is in a great location, in a quiet side street, with plenty of food options around. The staff were very helpful and had time to greet and answer any questions we had. On our last day we left our luggage after checking out and came back about lunchtime very hot and exhausted. The lovely lady at reception offered us complimentary tea and coffee.

The room could have been better equipped. There was no iron available in the room, which should be standard.

The hotel was excellent in general. Very friendly staff, very clean rooms and decent breakfast. Having the possibility to wash your clothes cheaply during your stay is a big plus.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious for Japan with all the amenities. The attractive and relaxing lounge offering snacks and drinks in the afternoon and evening was an outstanding plus. The laundry facilities were great and easy to operate. The staff was gracious and extremely helpful.

Loud sounds from water in pipes when people showered in the next room, sometimes at 4 am in the morning, woke us up a couple of times.

Dirty carpet in the room (lots of stains). There is no tea bags in the room, we came to the lounge, where you also can take some drinks, but there were no tea as well, could be an improvement
