Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaIt’s a 3rd floor walk up so you’ll need to lug your luggage up narrow stairs. It’s right next to loud bars. It’s a capsule hotel where you’re all kinda living together in your tiny private space - I had an interesting night where 1 guest made “funny” noises as they slept.
It’s near Ueno Park where I wanted to go for a run. The facilities (shower, toilet, washroom, smoking area, common area where you can sit & eat) were clean & lovely. I enjoyed the comfy bed, charging ports right next to your head, a light w adjustable dimness/brightness - I slept well (when I eventually fell asleep lol read below.)

ItalyThe space it is very narrow, it is like to be on a train. One hallway with capsule beds on the right and facilities on the left. Mattresses are really thin and not really comfortable. It would be very easy to fix this issues by adding an extra mattress under.
Very good location, near Ueno Park and a street with a lot of life. Automatic check-in procedure with face recognition. Good quality price relation during the week. Clean facilities

SingaporeSmall but expected for the price (if you're short it should be totally fine tbh, I'm 5'5 and the beds were cozy) Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper/sensitive to noise bc you can hear the street/karaoke especially Thursday - Sunday, can get cold bc only one heater and one blanket and they leave the door open during cleaning. Be warned if you have luggage it's a third floor walkup
Location was good, bathroom facilities were nice, bed was nice, small common area to put luggage and Ipad for checking in + leaving/coming back with face ID was convenient, definitely worth it if you're young/broke and planning to spend most of the day outside anyway. Used the hostel basically just to sleep at night and it was good!

MalaysiaNo elevator to get to the hostel (3rd floor), not recommended for elderly/kids or you have heavy luggages. Small spaces to walk/move around. Not quite clean but acceptable. Got very hot in the summer, AC doesn’t work very well. I had to buy small fan at don quijote nearby to compensate the temperature in the capsule size bed.
Value for money, location wise is near to city & attractions.

UkraineEverything was way too crowded and cramped, the sleeping area floor was covered in backpacks and the personal space was way too small. The location is right around host clubs, so any time you come to the hotel you are bombarded with annoying offers. If location is not important, there are far better choices for the price.
The hotel location is great for public transportation. There is an automated Check-in process, so coming and leaving is easy. There is a working area for anyone travelling for work.

SwitzerlandExtremely uncomfortable cabin - very hard. Mattress is only 4cm high and flat in the center. It feels like sleeping on hard floor. I only stayed one night and never again. Hotel management: Please invest in new better mattress as this is crucial. No onsen, just normal small shared bathroom. This place is quite small. For 1 maybe 2 nights max of they improve mattresses.
Street with food nearby.

United StatesIt’s located on a busy nightlife street, so on the weekends you might be lulled to sleep by muffled club music . It wasn’t too bad but bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper ; The interior design really needs to be updated. It was dark, uninviting and dated ; There was no room for luggage near the bed, so you have to put it in the lounge area….or in the hallway at the foot of the bed then which you have to climb over everyone’s luggage to get to your pod ; the design for getting into the upper bunks is a little cumbersome because the shared ladder is off center from the pods , and you have to move diagonally up and over towards your bed, then lift yourself over the wood ledge at the base of the bed without hitting your head on the top of the bunk opening lol . Perhaps they can add some grab bars or handles …
It was affordable ; separate rooms for the bathrooms vs shower vs vanity area with sinks ; beds were comfy ; washer and dryer onsite ; tiny gym locker can fit a small laptop etc
