How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHot spring really made my day. Kids slept in another side of the room, quite a distance from parents’ twin bed. Really excellent especially when kids sleep much earlier than parents 😂 Free laundry in B1. I love it.
We did not realise there is a small control panel with the key tray for electricity to show the staff that we want the room to be tidied up. It was really messy after the first 2 days.

Verified reviewI liked the location of the hotel. Cleanliness was perfect. We liked Onsen Sauna very much. The staff is very friendly. The rooms have enough space even with three beds. They provide coffee and tea. There were two AC in our room

Verified reviewThe staff, room, and onsen were all lovely.
A little far from Asakusa station with walking with luggage. But not terrible. Very convenient overall to great sites.

Verified reviewThe room was very nice. The onsen was very clean and comfortable. They give out free ice cream and other amenities and the room was surprisingly big. Washer and dryer was okay but over all really good. Would recommend.
The dryer didn’t really work well.

Verified reviewThe location is better than you expected - steps away from shopping and Senso Ji - visiting there with fewer people and enjoying the beauty and peace. The hotel is clean and well-managed. The room is clean, quiet, and the beds are comfortable. The Onsen is awesome - with several different temperature pools and a cold plunge one. They provide many kinds of shampoos and conditioners. The breakfast has excellent Japanese-style food.
Not much!

Verified reviewThe facilities of hot spring were very nice and the service time is till 10:00am next day. It’s highly appreciated.
There’s some noise of wind chime during midnight, as my room was on 3rd floor, it made me difficult to fall into sleep. Even the staff helped me to change the room next day, I have requested to have a higher floor in room booking nearly 2 months ago, the staff didn’t satisfy my room request. I think this price level of the hotel should be able to provide high quality service to customer.

Verified reviewLocation, Onsen and staff was excellent. The location is just a few minutes walk to Senso-ji temple, so I was able to wake up early at 6am and walk to it to take pictures without any people. It's also a short walk to the Nakamise Shopping Street and a little further to the Asakusa stations. The Onsen is top-notch as they have a separate room for the extra hot tubs. The stone landscaping around the Onsen make for a great atmosphere. Rooms are nice and clean. We stayed in the triple room which was very spacious. The breakfast was great, as where else can you have all you can eat ikura (salmon roe) and sashimi over rice as a breakfast option? Also, did I mention the free ice cream and yogurt drink? They really try and make it more like a ryokan at this hotel which is great, because of the tatami mat floors in the entire hotel, you need to take off your shoes at the entrance. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in filling out the Yamato luggage shipping form.
Cost was a bit on the high end, but when you factor the room size, cleanliness, location, great Onsen, staff and breakfast, it was worth it.

Verified reviewHotel was recommended to us by friends (who loved the free ice cream!) Beautiful hotel in a great location right in the middle of Asakusa neighbourhood but not noisy. Onsen and free ice cream and ramen a huge bonus for my teenage children, as well as location (distance to Don Quijote and the nearby stalls and restaurants).
Rooms a little small but comfortable and well laid out

Verified reviewBreakfast and night-time soba were awesome! We really enjoyed both. Breakfast had a good selection of Japanese dishes and some continental choices as well. The hot spring bath was amazing after a long day of exploring the city. The room and amenities were also very nice, with thoughtful touches for necessities. We had a partial view of the temple from our room. Location was great - right by the temple, where we enjoyed walking and listening to the chanting monks in the early morning (6:00); and so close to lots of restaurants, shopping, and train stations.
