I absolutely loved my stay here. The hospitality was unmatched, and it was such a wonderful start to my Japan trip to be so welcomed into their home. The community that they've fostered in this space is incredible.

I had an amazing stay at this charming hostel in Tokyo! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy. Isa & Yumiko was exceptionally kind and helpful. The biggest highlight is the unbeatable location, so easy to access from the airport. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

It is a little far from shibuya - for me that was perfect! No need to be close to the chaos, you can take the subway.

It is very clean and the room feels comfy. I like the feel-like-home common area which allows us to sit, offers free coffee & tea & some local snacks. It has laundry & drying facilities. I can feel the passion of guesthouse owner from the nicely printed map which recommends nearby places to see & restaurants. Location is superb, the bus stop is just a few meter away and a few metro stations are also within a few minutes walk. I love the walk from the guest house through the neighbourhood to the Sumida Parks.

Got a little stuffy in the dorm room sometimes - but I also didn't ask for other options so that's on me.

Clean, quiet, really good facilities with all you need (plenty of hanging hooks), and host family was really nice and knowledgeable about the area. Location right near the train station and I found it super easy to get around - Kuramae itself was also lovely to explore.

My spouse had a problem with the draft from the window, and it was hard to regulate the temperature in the room. To be fair as Danes we might not be use to living with an airconditioning machine - and the noise of it. This is a challenge for us i all old houses in Japan. We would be happy to book at Hikari Guest House again

We sleept really well on the madresses. The room was clean and the family kind. Very good location and WiFi.

Can't think of much, other than perhaps the residents can take more initiative in locking up the main door after midnight for security reasons.

I really enjoyed my stay at Tokyo Guesthouse Hikari. The beds are so comfortable, space is well maintained and I loved the aesthetic of the traditional Japanese house. I was warm every night and the host Isa is really helpful, kind, and always around whenever I have queries to be answered. I will be back!

I have stayed in several hostels in Tokyo and this one was the best! I only stayed one night but I would have loved to stay longer. The host, Isa, is very kind and explains everything very well, and also helps you with recommendations of the neighborhood. The rooms are big, you have space to leave your stuff and hang your clothes, and everything was clean. The neighborhood is very nice, it's not far from the tourist places, but it is quiet and you find many stores, restaurants and very cutes cafes. I'll definitely come back to this hostel! Thanks!

Very clean and compact but well organised rooms. Cosy common area with kitchen and nice tea/coffee/snacks available. We had some health related issues and our host Isa helped us very well to find a doctor that could speak English and called several hospitals, really appreciated!

On your arrival you can’t spontaneously show up and bring your luggage between 11am and 4pm. I guess you could have agreed it with Isa beforehand but I had been changing accommodations a lot so I forgot and ended up having to look for a place nearby to store my backpack before check in. Luckily the closest Yamato Transport service point where I had my suitcase delivered could also store bags for the day. Towel is not included, which wasn’t a problem as I had packed my own, but would also appreciate to get a clean one in each accommodation by default.

Lovely guesthouse with a beautiful interior, great amenties (free laundry and snacks) and Isa the attentive host that gave a lot of good tips for the area. Comfortable beds with a full-close curtain and good space to hang clothes and charge your devices. Though a bit far from the central locations and main buzz areas in Tokyo, it was a calm and trendy neighbourhood to retreat to after a long day in the crowded areas. Close to the Sumida river which was nice for an evening walk or a morning run. Also, super easy access to Haneda with Asakusa Line!

This guest house is probably the best I have been in. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, the facilities were excellent, and I had a pleasant stay. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of space for personal belongings. The location is good and there are some exceptional restaurants and shops nearby.

The Host Isa was so kind and helpful! The guesthouse is so cosy and cute. Great location for getting the train too! I would highly recommend for something that’s a bit different and the beds are so comfortable. we had a private twin room.

Great value and staff! We love how the place bringing us a very local experience of Japanese culture and taste. From indoor decor (all wooden structures) to house rules (now we understand how clean and quiet the people are).
