I remember going back and forth on booking.com between this place and a couple of others. I am so glad I made the decision to stay at Tomoya. It is very private, quiet, clean, and welcoming. The staff was very attentive. Our room was perfect for 3 people, with the 2 bedrooms nicely separated and with a lot of privacy. The Japanese breakfast (extra fee) was amazing and we had it every day (the food they serve changes a little bit every day btw). The location is very nice, in a very quiet part of town with lots of restaurants around (and 7/11 which was always perfect for drinks and snacks). Overall, great value for money and I would definitively consider Tomoya again if I ever return to Kyoto.

A bit far from central and not much around it, but it was still a lovely stay for us as we love the property itself.

The staffs were all really nice, especially the manager Yosuke San was particularly helpful and kind. We left behind a personal belongings, and Yosuke San helped us to shipped it back all the to London, really grateful and much appreciated.

Having a longer stay it would have been good to be able to watch more on TV than just BBC news on repeat. Nothing to complain about.

We stayed for a week in Kyoto so it was great to have more space than a hotel room. We could do our laundry and get our own breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and everything was spotless.

1. 10-15minute walk to the nearest train/bus station (we found ourselves taking the taxi more often) 2. In terms of room configuration, I wish the toilet was beside the bedroom so it's easier to get to in the middle of the night.

Everything! Gorgeous staff, very friendly and helpful.

Our room was AMAZING. The bed was massive, had a lounge, great bathroom, laundry and a toilet which we didn’t even have to turn the light on. The toilet lift lifted too 😆! Short walk to the subway and shops, quiet neighborhood, just perfect.

There was nothing that I didn't like. It was a perfect place to stay in Kyoto.

The hotel provided a calm and clean place to rest between Kyoto outings. The accommodations were spacious and the staff incredibly kind. We mentioned to one staff member that it was our anniversary and the next day they gave us flowers with a note congratulating us. They went above and beyond in quality, performance, service, and hospitality.

Nothing to complain

Family room was well appointed. Very spacious with 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchentte. The room is also equipment with a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Overall service was exceptional including the breakast every morning. The location of this hotel is walking distance from some key attractions like Nijo Castle and Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.

Could not fault a thing

Everything. The exceptional staff, our room and sitting room and the lovely quiet location. You could walk everywhere. I would highly recommend. They also gave us such a good suggestion for dinner. We would happily stay there again. Thank you for making our trip to Kyoto so memorable.
