Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MaltaRoom is not very soundproof so I could easily here what is happening in the corridor or in my neighbours' room. Parking spaces could be a bit wider, struggled to get out of my Prius, and parked in the centre of the box.
Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Location is great near the centre of Tottori. Staff was very welcoming. The restaurant in 2F of the hotel was very good and not expensive at all, a must visit!

AustraliaThe location, it's a very long walk from the station. Tottori - other than the sand dunes and sand castle museum this town doesn't have a lot of sightseeing and many small businesses seemed to have closed down along the main street (probably a result of the C19)
Reasonable price, staff were friendly and helpful

GermanyFor being a non-smoking room, it smelled an awful lot like a smoking room. And I couldn't open the window. I guess thats because all the rooms were smoking rooms until a few years ago and the room hasn't seen a rennovation since 40+ years. Cleanness is also as good as stuff gets thats already decades old, it looks very used and everything is yellow. No plug next to the bed, just tells about the age. I could hear my neighbour shuffel in his bed and clearing his throat. The WiFi was horrible at times. Youtube in 144p (about 3pixel per square meter) with a lot of interruptions.
Staff was friendly and first reception to ask me for my Citizen-card and not the passport after I spoke japanese, made me happy. I was able to enter my room early. Nice area, close enough to the station and bus stop. The restaurant in the hotel was surprisingly good.

New ZealandIt's a tidy hotel with nice staff. Our room was small but adequate, although the bathroom was particularly compact. We had a room on the upper floor so it had an open sunny aspect. It's a flat 10 minute walk from the station and buses to the sand dunes. There's a good tourist office at the station.

Conveniently located city hotel with all the required facilities. It had a nice bathtub and a good view from the room across the city. On site parking is available. The rooms are small but clean.

JapanWe didn't get any explanation about cleaning service at check-in, but we assumed the room would not be cleaned if we didn't put out the "Please Make Up" sign out. We did not put the "Do Not Disturb" sign either because we still wanted the amenities. So we did not put out any sign at all. Despite this, the cleaning staff still came into the room and made up the bed for us. I had some things set that I did not want anyone to touch or move, so I was really upset. What is the point of having the "Please Make Up" sign if the room will be cleaned whether you put it out or not?? The hotel should either a) have rules that are understandable by everyone or b) explain their weird cleaning rules at check-in c) have a separate "Amenities Replacement Only" sign. I would give this place 9/10 if not for this experience.
The room was big enough for 2 people and there wasn't the usual big desk that just takes space, just conveniently placed 2 tables. What is unusual in Japan, you can actually open a big suitcase in this room (usual rooms are too tiny for this). The bathroom was nice, but the ceiling was low and you shower with your head right next to a dirty fan (there was a lot of dust in it). The reception staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel is a 10-15 min walk from Tottori station and there is a lot of nice izakaya restaurants on the way. The bus to Sand Dunes, Hakuto Shrine etc. stops 100m from the hotel, so it's easy to get to the sightseeing spots. Lastly, the prize of the room was a steal- what a good deal!
