The hotel has 14 floors and many rooms on each floor, but only two elevators, which can make it difficult to get one during peak hours. Although the breakfast is good, many of the food items may be gone if you arrive in the last 30 minutes of the breakfast period. The room is also a bit small but this is a common thing in Japan.

The complimentary breakfast offers a wide variety of options and is served as a Japanese-style buffet. The hotel is located near the train station and about a 30-minute walk from the main temple of the city.

Parking was very limited, and we came in late, so had to find alternate parking. Many guests trying to use laundry at the same time meant we had to wait.

Easy access. Good breakfast. Helpful staff!

This hotel is part of popular hotel chain in Japan. First, the location was very good, few minutes away from the train station, before check-in was able to leave luggage there. Hotel is very clean, some basic amenities available to pick up in lobby, everything else that is needed was available in the room. Good Japanese style breakfast.

Although the hotel was good, I would choose to stay closer to the main street.

The hotel seems to be designed more for working travelers. The hotel was on the opposite side of the train station, away from the main street and far from Zenkoji Temple.

The stay was uneventful and pretty basic. It was comfortable and served it's purpose. It was fairly close to the train station and a short 10 minute walk. The train station has a fantastic grocery store where we bought some fruit and fresh sushi for our meals. The breakfast on the top floor was delicious. It was more of a traditional Japanese breakfast with eggs, noodles and sausage.

The room with 2 bedrooms was very cramped. Definitely not for families with younger kids. Hotel is more for local business workers on work trips and not for families. Booked for 2 adults and two tweens. It was ok. Requested for 2 more towels but was told that towels were for adults only.

The breakfast was simple and nice. Staff were friendly. Reception staff were friendly and able to explain things clearly. Location was great, 5 min walk from Nagano station Add another 5-10 min if you are with small kids and have strollers, all accessible though. Shopping and things to see are on the other side of the train station.

The beds are hard but not intolerable. (Maybe for some?) The bathroom is small, without a separate toilet/shower area. Not a deal breaker but we had this with other hotels and so we missed it.

The location is fantastic- just 5 minute walk from Nagano station. The Japanese breakfast is INCLUDED and was fantastic and plentiful. The room size was more than adequate for our family of 4 (2 teens)- as there is a double bed and 2 twins.

The pillow. I think all Toyoko Inn has the same pillow. Very hard and flat.

We didn't mind the location but it is on the other side of the station which means not quite as convenient with the majority of shopping, transport and restaurant options being on the Zenkoji side.

This was our first stay at the Toyoko Inn and it was overall really very good. We were lucky enough to have a room on a high floor with a view of some of the mountains. They have a nice system where you can inform the hotel the day before if you will be taking breakfast on the 14th floor. You can then actually monitor how busy the breakfast area is on the day on your room TV. It looked like you can actually just make a breakfast bento to take out as well. There was a little more storage than in similar types of hotels and it was nice to have a window that opens to allow some fresh air in. The area is much quieter than the Zenkoji side and there was a nice park across the road as well.

There were no rooms that could accommodate more than two guests so we had to split our family across multiple rooms.

The hotel was very well located, close to the station and opposite the park. We simply loved Nagano and the friendly staff helped with local restaurant suggestions. A Japanese breakfast was included each morning at the hotel but was often crowded.

    Nothing at all

Our room on highest floor 14. Although breakfast lounge was there, there was an extra door leading the few rooms to keep the noise out. Very thoughtful! Everything in the room was new, including the hangers! View of mountain amazing, quiet room. Hotel Location good, check in and out swift. One of the best Toyoku Inn I have stayed! Have already recommended to friends to come stay here!

    All good.

My second visit to this hotel, and I really enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, and quite spacious too. Shower room was great. The room temperature was good, even though it was warm outside. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had a good selection of food. Always very busy and sometimes a bit tight for space in Toyoko Inns, but this one had a great view, from the top floor, and was relatively spacious. I’ll definitely be back.

It's alright value for money. The hotel itself is clean and is good enough for a place to sleep but nothing more than that. Didn't like the lighting in the room, it was hard to figure out (it's actually a remote) and too bright.

The location, it wasn't in the center of town but it was so close to the train station, it was really handy. The staff were helpful. They sent our luggage to our next hotel. The laundry was handy. Can't comment on breakfast, we didn't have it.

The concept of this hotel seems to be beyond me as a European, but maybe that's just a cultural difference that is at play here. Even for Japanese standards the hotel staff seems to say thank you all the time whilst actually not doing really any work. 3 people work at the reception, yet I as a guest have to do the check-in at a machine myself while the staff either watches me or tells me what to press. Why do I as a guest have to do it while the paid employees are just standing around. Next, I was informed that in my booking class the room wouldn't be cleaned. This was not clearly communicated at all during the booking process and as we were traveling with a baby, the smelly diapers were piling up so that I felt urged to just bring the smelly trash bag down to reception. Beds were less comfy than the futon beds we slept on the nights before.

Breakfast was alright and buffet style. Bathroom was functional and all amenities necessary present. Laundry and dryers were readily available and at a reasonable price. Around the corner from the central train station, so very easy to get to.

Breakfasts are usually very crowded due to small eatery but that's not something that can be easily improved due to limited space.

Hotel is very well positioned. Proximity to train and bus station is very good, shops are around the corner as well as city center.
