Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SerbiaThe inside of the toilet should be cleaner. It's a pity this ruins the image of the overall cleanliness of the room a bit. Another thing, I couldn't open the window because the smells of food, probably from the restaurant below, would enter the room.
The location is fine. There are two subway stations a few minutes walk from the hotel. There are also a few convenience stores close to the hotel with affordable prices. The area isn't the city centre, but still, it is easily approachable and I felt safe there. The staff is helpful. The room is small, but it has all you need: a kettle, a refrigerator, and an AC that you can manually adjust. It was very silent in the room. The bathroom was provided with shampoo, bodywash, handsoap and regenerator. The bed is comfortable, and the sheets and towels are perfectly clean. There are complementary toothbrushes, hairbrushes, coffee, tea, and pyjamas in the lobby.

United KingdomWe requested a room for 3 people but only 2 rooms, so we had to spilt up my family for the stay. The rooms were very small but comfortable and very clean all times which was nice. The breakfast was very limited especially for children, there wasn't much on offer for the children just some bread rolls.
The hotel was in an ideal location to travel on the trains and move around japan. The little extras were nice to help yourself too in the main lobby.

AustraliaSmall, cramped room, OK if traveling light. Deep bath with no hand rail. Window looks out onto the wall of building behind.
Location is very good, withing walking distance to train stations. A number of convenience stores around the hotel and numerous restaurants around the hotel. A shopping strip a short walk away also has their versions of fast food shops. The hotel itself is in two building, the main one and a relatively new annex. We stayed in the main building. Of all the hotels we used in Japan, this was the most cramped. There is no under bed storage for bags either, so for 2 people and big bags, it was a challenge. Also, the bathroom was small and the bath bath tubs itself was quite deep, so just be careful stepping in & out. Hold onto the sink as there are no handrails. There is a paid breakfast option for 1200 yen, a decent spread of both western & eastern items. As usual, there is a paid laundry, shared microwave, ice dispenser and cold drink vending machine. Tea/coffee facilities are available in the room but all supplies are near reception on the 1st Floor (Ground Floor) They also hold baggage for you at check out or before check in. We dropped ours off about 3 days before we actually checked in, as we were traveling to other areas and want to be dragging all the bags around.

United KingdomThe pillows were really uncomfortable, I woke up every morning with neck ache.
Only a short walk to the station. Plenty of convenience stores very close by. Didn't see much of the staff, but they were helpful and friendly when we needed anything. The hotel was very clean and quiet, we never heard any other guests.

United StatesJust the smell and air dust. Even the air filter and air freshener don’t work to take out the smell.
I love how close it is to most parts in Tokyo. If you can move past the smell of the room and how dusty the air feels like, it’s pretty clean and worth the money.

LuxembourgWorth mentioning that the pillows are too low and the rooms are pretty small, but this is the norm in Tokyo.
The location is very nice for people that want to be in a calmer neighborhood but still close to the heart of Tokyo. The staff was nice and helpful when needed. Facilities are modern and cozy with all amenities one might need for free. Bed was super comfortable! Would definitely book again.

United StatesThe room was strong of cigarette smoke smell
Very close to train station. Lots of restaurants, one becoming one of our favorites, the Yakiniku place just right outside of the train station. Room is very tiny but I guess this standard for Japan hotels. The room smelled very strong cigarettes. I guess the last person was a smoker. There was an air filter but it took a couple of days for the smoke to go away but it was still there. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay.

PolandOn the downside, the room is quite small (about 10 m²), but I knew this when booking and found the price-to-size ratio perfectly acceptable. It can be a bit noisy outside — when a bus or truck passed by, it sometimes felt like it was driving through the room! However, the windows are very well sealed, so it wasn’t too bothersome when they were closed.
I chose this hotel because of the very attractive price. The hotel is clean, offers nice toiletries, and has everything you might need — even a humidifier (though there is no air conditioning). The staff were friendly and helpful.

BelgiumI was traveling with some friends and we got placed in separate buildings. They were in the main building and I was in the annex one. The room did not have a lot of space, but I only needed to stay there 3 nights, so it wasn't that bad.
The hotel was a 4 minute walk from the station and it had a store right next to it. Check-in was super easy.
