Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceFor sure, small room enough with huge suitcases like I had, but it ‘s Tokyo. We stayed for almost 2 months, really nothing bad to say.
The location of the hotel is really practical. Different konbini close by. Very calm, clean, safe and comfortable. The staff of the hotel was very exceptional.I ‘am learning Japanese so I tried to improve it and I spoke with them, it was really amazing. For sure, if one day I return in Japan, definitely I ‘am returning at this hotel.

United StatesMy two small issues about our stay here might not be particular to this hotel, but maybe common across Japan, or at least Tokyo. 1. The bathrooms are really tiny! The entire room is tiny, but we could manage... we had to move the luggage on to the bed and down every time we needed something. But the worst part was the bathroom size! If you moved a little, it was easy to hit one elbow or the other with the wall or the sink, and because of how the toilet is oriented to save space, you had to twist your body to turn around and grab some toilet paper. I believe tiny rooms might be common in Tokyo, tho. 2. My parents arrived one day after I did, in the morning, and their room was not ready, understandably. However, they went up to my room to use the bathroom and drop off some things before we headed out somewhere, and the lady at the reception told us we shouldn't do that because non-hotel guests are not allowed in the rooms... but they WERE hotel guests, their rooms were just not ready yet, and they don't have a bathroom in their tiny lobby. I think this might be a Japanese cultural thing, but given the circumstances, I think it was unnecessary and a relatively bad experience to be told we were doing something wrong.
Great location and value! My family is somewhat frugal when traveling. We just want a decent place to sleep that is at a convenient location to go out to the places we want to visit. This place was located in a nice, quiet neighborhood within the city and within short walks to two or three different subway lines. Also the beds were extremely comfy! We had a great rest after every tiring day!

CanadaRoom was really tiny, especially the bathroom. It's close to the train tracks so ear plugs are a must.
Very conveniently located between Akihabara and Ryogoku. One is the ELECTRIC town, the other one is the SUMO town. Love it.

FranceWe had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean, the room small but cosy, and the price very affordable. There was a coin laundromat (with free detergent) and a dryer. The staff was really nice, and there were 2 bikes to rent on a first come, first serve basis. Asakusabashi is a nice location, and there were 2 metro lines 5 minutes away from the hotel. Thank you again!

A perfect spot for exploring Tokyo with good rail connections from Asakusabashi and a riverside walk up to Senso-ji. Bath, washing machine, and toiletries provided too.

ChileThe room is a bit tiny so, as we stayed a week, it wasn't the most comfortable, but the bed was comfortable and the amenities in the room, towels and trashbags were changes regularly.
Very strategic position, the staff was kind and always available, also to provide change for the laundry machine. We used the additional services for the laundry a few times and the bycicles, and they are the cheapest of all hotels where we stayed in Japan. The bikes are a bit old but come with a night light, lock and a big basket to store things - they are a great way to explore Tokyo! We also really loved the neighbourhood, it's full of nice cafes and restaurants and very calm - but only 15 minutes walking from Asakusa and Akihabara. The metro and JR lines are 3 minutes walking from the hotel.

RomaniaAt night it can become quite hot, as I understand they are on a central AC system, and opening the window solved it, but the noise might bother some.
Great hotel to have a good rest and be close to the action. The room was smaller than we are used to, but big enough and nicely organized to not feel cramped. It also had everything we needed and more (bath robes, slippers, toothbrushes, sewing kit, etc.). The staff was kind and explained everything clearly.

NetherlandsThe physical roomkey was a bit big with the keychain. Also the room lacked a proper wardrobe. But those are small issues.
Good location, close to subway or train stations. Easy to travel to other locations, Akihabara is just one station away. Multiple convenient markets close by so everything you need is within reach. As a bonus you can get to a riverbank close by with a good view of the Tokyo skytree. Great for photoshoot.
