Affordable price, clean sleeping area and toilet.

Location: About 1km from Onomichi station. If you travel in a cool weather, it would feel better to walk 1km than that in summer. The neighborhood was also a little dark at night. Bathroom: Too little bathroom per floor. The bathtub was also clogged a little bit so I didn't use it.

The person checking us in was very friendly with great advice and clear explanations. The neds in the dormitory were clean and comfortable.

The AC wasn't turned on in the bedroom, and it was difficult to find, especially as the two othet women in the dormitory seemed to have decided that if they were there first, them their rules apply, so we couldn't do anything after the staff left as they immediately complained about sleeping. It was 3pm...and in a dormitory...so we could not prepare or put away things, see where the AC was or feel welcomed at all. There was no rule of when it was lights out or quiet time, so these roomates decided it for themselves. I would strongly recommend the hostel to make rules like this clear with signs, as is the norm for dormitories arpund Japan. The bathroom has no door! The only lockable door is the shower/wet room, so you need to change inside the wetroom. It is old, rather dirty, and uncomfortable. Difficult to use it to clean oneself. The light on. The common room on the 4th floor was also out, so we couldn't use it to relax, but had to go to bed early and text each other there. It was rather miserable. It was difficult.to get a hold of the staff as once the gent who checked us in left the other(s?) seemes to do everything they could to avoid us. Even though I speak Japanese. I messaged in Japanese through this site and then, later, as I'm FINALLY about to sleep, I get my bed knocked on by the staff that was ignoring us. Sadly, though this hostel has promise, it is not clean, looks half done, and has badly trained staff. If they finish renovating, train staff better, and make sure there are clear rules to follow for everyone's peace, then it would be rather nice. I have stayed at many other hostels, even cheaper ones, and this is the worst one so far. Needs work.

The registration process was very smooth. The dormitory room was quiet and nice.

I prefer going to public bath and did not use the shower room.

It was cheap. The owner was nice and explained everything. The location is good. The room and the bed was big. The equipment included the necessary. Also an air conditioning.

The room was for me too dirty and musty. The shower was moldy, also too dirty and musty, even when it was cleaned daily. I felt uncomfortable, that's why I wouldn't go again.

Well located, nice host, free coffee and rooftop.

only one shower for all rooms/beds in the common area. Two toilets, out of which one is very small (so small that we had problems using it).

Location was fine.

The whole place is not clean at all, there is one bathroom for all the rooms which makes you queue for a while. The walls are very thin that you can easily hear what people in other rooms are talking about. I general the worse place i stayed in Japan. Dont book it.

Homely with friendly staff. Ken-san did a great job of making me feel welcome with some delicious lemon tea and talk about the Blue Hearts. A stones throw away from the water.

Female dorm exceptionally clean! Staff very friendly and were helpful when I checked in extremely late at night. Bed and linen comfortable.

Some toilets and the kitchen missing hand soap. Common areas like toilet, shower and kitchen could have been cleaner, shower curtain was mouldy, sinks had residue from multiple days prior. Building smelt a bit old and musty.

Staff were excellent and very helpful despite the language barrier.
