We had a wonderful stay at Komaian. Masae-san is incredibly likeable, warm-hearted and hospitable. She took us to a delicious restaurant for dinner and picked us up again after the meal. She patiently answered our many questions and we laughed together. The food she prepared for breakfast was very, very tasty. We felt at home and We would love to come back.

This is an experience! Masae-san is super welcoming and helpful. Modern feel to the house along with many traditional features. I loved the care and details of the house and the setup for visitors. Bed was comfy. Toilet and shower modern and super clean. Washing machine available. Felt like I was visiting a friend. Breakfast was amazing and catered for my vegan preferences well. Absolutely adored this stay! This is very close to Temple 16 on the Shikoku pilgrimage. Spoil yourself and be looked after by Masae-san. You won't regret it!

We had a very warm welcome from the host! She was so kind and explained everything very well. She booked us a reservation at the restaurant and brought us to the station after our stay. So sweet! Breakfast was also very good!

We loved this place. It was very unique and the breakfast was amazing, one I will remember. We were craving vegetables and a home cooked meal and this was just that. The host was lovely and made us feel as home. I hope we could have spent more time here. The futon beds were very comfortable, amazing interior and special touches.

The host was incredibly kind, and everything was perfect for our family. We especially enjoyed the Japanese breakfast—it was the best meal we’ve ever had in Japan. The bed was extremely comfortable and soft, and the scenery was breathtaking. We would love to visit again in the future.

Everything was great. Bear in mind that public transport is not plentiful in the area. So some planning is required. But Masae-san offers a pick up service from the station and if you have your own set of wheels or are a pilgrim, then it's all good.

Everyday we had cooked breakfast made by Masae-san who checked when we would like to have breakfast. It was absolutely tasty, personalised and prepared by her at the holiday house. She offered to take us on a guided walk around the area. The main reason to stay here is Masae-san. One can see that she enjoys hosting people. There was home made cake, and other thoughtful gestures to make our stay comfortable. She even called around to make sure we had up-to-date traffic information. On the last day we had to leave really early in the morning and so told her not to bother with breakfast. She came over and gave us packed breakfast saying she's a morning person. It's a fantastic option if you want to unwind and get pampered.

The home was unlike any other accommodation I stayed while in Japan — built like a classical Japanese farmhouse with a modern twist. The owner Masae is such a warm and generous person. We were welcomed into her home with a fire burning, hot tea and homemade cake. The breakfast she made for us in the morning was equally delicious. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.

Everything! The apartment was very cute, very Japanese, clean and well looked after. Our host met us at the door and welcomed us in with homemade cake which was fantastic. She told us everything we needed to know! There was a lovely fire and the beds were really comfy. She also cooked us a traditional breakfast before sending us on our way. One of the best experiences I've had since coming to Japan!

This was such a wonderful experience, the house is very beautiful and unique. The host is lovely and welcoming. She had a log fire burning for our arrival and some tea and cake. She drove us to a local restaurant so we could have a drink with dinner and we were able to walk the 10 minutes home after dinner. She came in the morning cooked us a beautiful traditional breakfast. Everything about this place is wonderful. Thank you Masae.

Masae-san is a wonderful host who went above and beyond for us. She has an incredible property, beautifully decorated and well furnished where we felt instantly at home and welcomed. Her homemade breakfast and snacks were also delicious. I wish I could stay longer!

The host is the most lovely and kind person. The facility is very beautiful and clean and makes you feel right at home. It is possible to choose between the Japanese style tatami sleeping or between a comfortable bed. I really recommend this place and also would say that most of the great experience was because of the host- best person we have met in Japan! Highly recommended.
