United StatesIt is indeed a bit far away from the city. Going into the town takes 20-25 minutes.
The location and private hot tub is superb! Soaking in hot water and watching sunrise, sunset and stars over the blue ocean is such an unforgettable experience. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly. They offered shuttle service to and from JR station. The on-site breadfast and dinner are all very delicious and high-end. They put up light shows in the two nights we stayed and those felt very romantic, unique and creative.

Service at the hotel was impeccable! From organising pick-up and dropping us to various places around Shirahama, the staff tried their best to meet our needs. Kumia-san in particular, was not only conversant in English, but would communicate via whatsapp for needed changes.

ThailandThe hotel was quiet and clean. We had a comfortable room with lots of space. The view of the ocean and stars from the private bath on the balcony was very pleasant. We had an excellent meal prepared by the kitchen. My wife is vegetarian and doesn't eat mushrooms, so I contacted the hotel before our arrival to see if they could accommodate her. They took a great deal of care to prepare a varied selection of dishes for her. She really enjoyed the meal. My food was also delicious. The service was excellent too. The staff are attentive, helpful, and communicate well in English.

JapanThe rooms were a little outdated and the TV in the room was small. The hotel has a luxury-type price but some of the decor and furniture seem a little cheap or underwhelming.
XYZ was located on a beautiful cliff at the edge of the sea close to Shirahama. The location was beautiful and the view from our room was exquisite. The staff was super friendly, even accommodating us with a 2-year-old and some special requests at dinner time. Our food was really good and the wait staff was so attentive to all of our needs. They really make the place special. The private onsen tub on the balcony was so relaxing and was a treat for me and my family to enjoy. My wife and I sat out watching shooting stars above our heads as we soaked in the relaxing waters. That memory will never be forgotten.

Dinner is so great! Especially Bbq A5 wagyu and seafood ahijo! It provides transportation from Shirahama Station to the resort, around 15-20mins. Staffs are helpful and very nice, smile always :) Special thanks to the female staff who give us heartful blessings. Arigatou ne!
