Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesOnly had a tiny locker for valuables that could not fit much. The female dorms didn't have a bathroom so we had to walk down the hall for bathrooms or showers. Windows were kept open at night with no screen so mosquitos and spiders came in. Make sure you check in on time because they lock the doors at night and you'd need a code to enter the back door. We would have liked the back door to have been labeled or at least had a light on it - we spent a bit of time looking for it and even climbed the fire escape stairs in the back trying to find the door.
Lovely shower pressure. Decent enough privacy in the female dorms. Capsule bed had more space than I expected and I (5'10) could fit comfortably laying down. We checked in at 6 to get our room and came back at 3am after a night hike. We appreciated them having a backdoor with a code where we could enter after opening hours.

Funky Vintage style, close to 7Eleven and certainly the cheapest accommodation in the area. Great facilities to cook or heat up food! They also sell their own beer, and furthermore, we had a great barbecue eating Kobe beef and fish with the lovely staff!

JapanIt could have been cleaner. There is a female only bathroom, which is great, but unfortunately not all females clean up after themselves after having dried their hair over the sink. One of the sinks was clogged for three days… The body soap on the dispensers in the shower rooms were not refilled. The bedroom looked nice with the rugs, but I think those made cleaning more difficult. Not sure the room was actually vacuumed.
The beds are comfortable. The place looks nice.

GermanyThe bed was a mattress on very small wooden box and the room had exposed brick, which made it all feel a little unfinished. I have to say that the bed was extremely comfortable and the exposed brick wall was most likely a design choice and purposefully exposed. Also the room only had very thin curtains, nothing to block the light to my knowledge. All that being said i would definitely go back on my next trip to Kunigami. It was a perfect place to spend the night.
I booked the single room, which still comes with a shared shower and bathroom. The whole hostel was very clean and a rustic industrial theme. This extended into the room, which was pretty bare bones but i made it work for one night and the bed was actually surprisingly comfortable. The shared kitchen and fridge were clean and overall it seemed the staff were doing a fantastic job keeping everything organized.

BelgiumWe stayed here recently and overall had a mixed experience. The hostel itself has a really cool and modern industrial design. The interior is amazing and well thought out. There’s a pool table and ping pong, which is a nice touch. However, there were very few other guests during our stay, which made the atmosphere feel a bit empty. The area around the hostel was also very quiet — most places were closed and there wasn’t much to do. Even the nearby waterfalls turned out to be closed, and unfortunately, the staff didn’t have much information about it. There’s a beautiful sunset spot at the beach nearby, and a 7-Eleven conveniently located around the corner. Some downsides: there are no curtains in the rooms, and we were woken up at 7 a.m. by someone yelling through loudspeakers — again at 7:30 a.m. Not ideal if you’re hoping to sleep in. All in all, the place has potential, but it lacked energy and information during our stay.

SwitzerlandAwful texture of the bath towels. Usually people dry dishes with this type of towel. The fridge in the room freezes things to complete ice cream state. There is no way to close blinds for full darkness. There are ants in the room, so don’t leave your sweets open:)
Wonderful place to explore Yanbaru Forest area! The rooms are very nice, beds are comfortable and cozy. The hostel has a communal kitchen to cook or warm up your own food. There is a bar downstairs where you can sometimes meet locals! You can go to the sea to swim, it’s just 7 minutes away or go hiking right from the property. The staff is very helpful and nice. We slept very well!

SpainThe bathroom cleanliness is definitely not up to the standards of Japan. From a EU point of view, it is ok but a bit disappointing. The private room has literally nothing inside except for a bed, a chair and 1 clothes hanger. A bit more furniture to arrange clothes, curtains and a bigger carpet to not walk on concrete would make it good. The windows are very old so you hear everything from outside. Although the common spaces are great, there is 0 vibe. I actually did not feel good staying there somehow. Quite spooky and no one talks to each other.
Only hostel up so north of the Island and 10 min walk for a nice beach where there seems to be mainly local campers going. The private room is very big, the bed is comfortable and the common areas as well with infrastructure to work from there and some games like billiard, ping pong and a piano.

This hostel is a gem of a place, amazing price and very comfortable beds. The common areas are clean and comfortable. It's a hostel, so no breakfast or dinner options, but they do have a small bar and it's walking distance to a 7/11.

Germany- the male dorms weren’t as clean as I’d liked them to be. Also there was only one soap in the bathroom and no sterilisier in any of the toilet. Also no individual shower mats. If they would fix that it would be a 10 from me.
- Great facilities (Bar, kitchen, laundry, pool, tabletennis, bike rental) - Friendly and helpful staff - Great location right next to Yanbaru forest, close to the beach and within a peaceful little village - Affordable price - Very cool interior design

United StatesHelpful if kitchen bins could be emptied regularly and counters wiped down. Otherwise it’s well provided for.
A hostel with a cool vibe and comfy beds, nothing fancy but provides what it promises—we had a private bathroom, but some rooms don’t. Lots of communal space, a good kitchen and laundry, nice design if you appreciate industrial/contemporary. Best to have a car. Town is very quiet and not terribly pretty, but we had good walks in Asmui Spritual Hikes area at Cape Hedo and on the local beach at Okuma Beach. Ate delicious yakiniku at Lion Okuma, and the local (hidden) izakaya across the road was also great. Public service announcements wake you up in the morning and also echo across town around 5pm, standard for Okinawa.

For a solo traveller, this was the only reasonably priced accomodation for easy access to the Yanbaru area that I could find. Lots of free parking and there is a convenience store next door.

United StatesThere were no curtains to darken the room. There were only light lace-type curtains. I wouldn’t care for myself, but our toddler wouldn’t take a nap because it was so bright in there. I’ve never been to a hotel where there were no curtains, so I was surprised by this.
Location was great - right by 7-11, 5 mins from Okuma Beach, 20 mins from Cape Hedo, less than 10 mins from Hiji Falls. The room and hostel both had a great aesthetic. Staff was really nice and helpful when I needed something.
