Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaNothing.
Everything. Our room was great, overlooking the water. Our bed was really big. Made use of the free transportation within the island (bike, tuktuk, van) and from/to Nagasaki areas. Enjoyed the bike ride to sunset point with tea and chairs. Dinner (Japanese, multi course) and breakfast buffet (we picked Japanese over Western style) were amazing. For the price that we paid when booking the place, the meals were worth it. The hot and cold pools, indoor and outdoor, were nice. Skipped the private Onsen because of time. Nice library / lounge was available after enjoying the pool. Staff was great, helpful and kind. Stayed for 1 night as a special treat to our Kyushu trip. Highly recommend!

AustraliaI loved how this hotel is set up for families and offers different types of stays. The restaurants available were all great. The staff were great. We had such a beautiful time there. The free use e bikes were so handy and we shuttled ourselves from different parts of the the hotel entirely using these - no rain thankfully, but if there was there’s a shuttle bus that routinely takes you around. I made some lifelong memories here.

We drove so it was alright for the location. It turned out to be a surprised it was a resort. We had a large room and our room had a so called 'living room' space. The hotel provides shuttle bus to fetch passengers from point to point. We walked between the hotel room and restaurant, it was scenic and beautiful along the way. A pleasure stay for us!

CanadaThe goods in shops seem expensive, but you get a 1000yen coupon if you choose the eco-friendly room cleaning option. You might need a car to get to this resort.
Good breakfast, wide variety of food. The Onsen and pool experiences at this resort are really good.

UkraineAn incredible place—I regret that we stayed here for only one night. I would happily come back for a week or two. This hotel is perfect for a family getaway. There are several hot springs, including private ones where the whole family can relax together. Plenty of cozy spots for rest and relaxation, as well as play areas for kids. Don’t make the same mistake we did—stay for more than just one night!

JapanEverytime you want to go to the restaurant or hot spring bath, you need to go out and move to that location by car or shuttle bus. It was heavy rainy day so it was not handy.
Washoku breakfast was great! And kids playroom is also good.

This is a wonderful resort in beautiful Japanese style. Super clean and comfortable, and a lovely ocean view. The Japanese dinners and breakfasts were superb! Whilst this hotel caters mainly to young families and dog lovers, we, as an older couple, felt welcomed and at home.

Hong KongNo. Everything was great.
Extremely clean room. We loved the design. Everything looked really new when we were there. The balcony was gorgeous with superior sea view. The breakfast and dinner were great. The staff even offered different set dinner for us when they knew that we stayed there for 2 nights. Free parking was included and the hot spring was nice. We could reserve family room for the hot spring. The room was spacious and tidy. There was a beach nearby. Shutter bus service was provided. The overall experience was terrific. We would definitely highly recommend this hotel to others.

JapanThe included western style breakfast facility we ate at had food that was mediocre but had an excellent selection for an included service. However we must mention they had a truly horrible hostess. When we walked up she just needed to seat us, as she did everyone else, she asked us multiple things in Japanese and we had to mention to hostess we don’t speak Japanese, instead of waiting for us to use our phones translation device, or help by using one herself as our awesome hotel check-in staff did, she abruptly requested another staff member help us, who also didn’t speak Japanese, all the while, she ignored us, and proceeded to seat 3 other families in the mean time. As we stand awkwardly waiting, watching the staff she had requested have a confusing conversation amongst themselves still ignoring us. We finally asked via our phones translation service what was going on, if we could be seated or not. This seemed all very unnecessary as we’d be more than happy to move things along by just using our phone to translate instead of her asking “English?” And then pushing us off, (is how it felt), to some other staff that she assumed could help us. The second morning we went to breakfast and had the same hostess, she asked in English for our room key and sat us instantly so we were baffled as to what the issue was the first morning of our stay.
We had a wonderful time, helpful staff for the most part, the lovely convenient location, included amenities, convenient shuttles. Fair pricing, fishing option, lovely ambiance of the bbq dinner, help from our informative hotel staff to reserve meals and ensure we had detail as it was our first time visiting. The spa was luxurious, everywhere was clean and not too many people with the exception of the play place on Saturday, which was to be expected. Lots to do and lovely gift options.
