Loved the Japanese rooms and onsens. 3 private onsen open 24 hrs plus the communal one. Great location, close to station with the Sake Museum, conbini, and たくさん日本酒の店はあります。 Staff is friendly. It’s a Dormy Inn; I love them if I have to stay in a hotel.

One very minor thing. It said you’re not supposed to wear yukata outside of property. It may have just been a translation error, but the English version said please don’t wear yukata off property. There was a yukata matsuri and a lot of local hotel guests wore yukata outside the property. I think I was 1 of 2 gaijin at the hotel-I love it when there are very few of us.😂 Next time I’ll ask the staff. (hopefully in Japanese) Really nothing there to not like.

Even though I stayed during the off the peak winter season, the property was well maintained with superb service standards. The room was spotlessly clean and the onsens were lovely.

    Nothing to dislike.

We absolutely loved our stay at Yukinohana in Yuzawa! This hotel beautifully blends traditional Japanese culture with modern comforts, creating a truly memorable experience. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It was the thoughtful little details throughout the hotel that really stood out — things like reading glasses at the front desk for guests who forgot theirs, complimentary ice creams, cozy Japanese lounge wear, traditional Japanese coffee drip setups in the rooms, and so much more. Every touch added to the feeling of true hospitality. One of our favorite parts was relaxing in the onsen pools after long days of skiing — it was pure bliss. The hotel's location is also fantastic, set in a charming little village that offered just the right mix of convenience and local atmosphere. Plus, the easy access to the bullet train made getting there and exploring the area incredibly smooth. We would absolutely come back to Yukinohana and can't recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for an authentic yet modern Japanese experience in Yuzawa!

Beautiful hotel. Very spacious room for families with 4 beds, and a separate bedroom. However it’s a little on the expensive side as they charge per person, but it’s worth it. Great location and very welcoming staff. The private onsen are amazing so I was able to enjoy it with my family.

    A little expensive for Yuzawa

Limited facilities for drying snow equipment like gloves and outerwear. The room available for drying was only really available for boots and snowboards

Best onsen ryokan I've been to, especially with the private onsen system that is simple and convenient, just go in when its empty

Lovely room, fantastic breakfast, beautiful onsen. Attentive staff. Extras ie hot drinks in room, yakult in am, ice creams and Ramen in evening is a nice touch.

    Drying room facilities lacking, expensive.

Amazing facilities and beautiful hotel. Room was warm and had many details that made it very convenient. The baths were excellent and provided good recovery after a crazy weather weekend. Nice little extras like late night ramen and onsite bar. Location was really close to ski hire, the station and a shuttle bus stop

We weren't told that we had to reserve breakfast by 6pm even though we arrived at 9am to drop luggage off. Not sure how we were supposed to know unless we missed something.

Wow! What an amazing experience, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Convenient location right next to the train station and a short walk to the chair lift, makes this hotel an ideal location for a short ski trip from Tokyo. The rooms were large, modern and spacious with lovely traditional details throughout, and great views across the mountains. The Onsen was beautiful and the whole hotel was very clean and exceptionally maintained. After finishing in the Onsen, the complimentary ice cream was a lovely added bonus. Would recommend to anyone visiting Japan for a luxury stay for a short weekend skiing!
