Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RussiaReally wished there was a staircase access because I'm personally averse to taking the elevator unless I can't help it, not sure if it's inaccessible due to safety concerns or just the hotel's policy... No bedside light too, unless you count the portable light in.
Enjoyed my stay here. The location is top-notch, easily accessible and convenient to get around from. Noise isolation is dedent, so hardly any noise could be heard. AC system is very quiet. The room is small as expected, but has an electric kettle and a small fridge. The bed is quite comfortable, too. Bathroom might be small for the people on the bigger size, but also very comfortable, i enjoyed that you can take a japanese-style bath in there. Cleaning is done on demand, but very meticulously, there's also a coin laundromat on the 1st floor. It's better to know at least some degree of Japanese, though, in order to communicate with the staff better.

Hong Kong1. No complimentary coffee, not in the room nor in the lobby
1. Good location for connection- the hotel was 6 minutes walk to the Okachimachi station (JR Yaanote Line), and 3 min walk to Suehirocho metro Station (Ginza Line). So it was handy to move around by taking public transport. 2. Room is clean and staff in general is helpful, except that some could not communicate in simple English. But with google translating tool, we did not have any problem. 3. We were happy that we could store our luggage for several hours earlier in the hotel before the checkin time without paying additional charge 4. Handy to have a good cafe a few steps away so that we could take breakfast there

CanadaLike most hotels in Tokyo, the rooms are quite narrow. You might want to consider booking one size up. There's only one elevator so sometimes you have to wait.
The location is ridiculously good. Walking distance from Akihabara, Ueno and Yushima. The window in the room is bigger than most hotels in Tokyo. The bathroom was clean and odorless.

PolandThe glasses were not cleaned but only rinsed before being "packed" into "I've been sterilized" sleeve. Which was an obvious lie, as after using my glass to drink beer one night, I found it the next day packed in this sleeve after room cleaning and it still stank of beet. So, I had to clean it myself. Not a biggie, but something worth keeping in mind.
The room was nice and clean, I liked that you had to request it being cleaned and it was not done automatically daily as in most other hotels. Which usually annoys me, as you cannot use the room when they're cleaning, so having an option to choose when it was done here, was great.

PhilippinesThere is nothing I didn't like.
I like the accessibility to train station, only 4 minutes walk. It is situated in the middle of Ueno and Akihabara. It is a 7-minute walk to a Uniqlo Store in Ueno. The room we stayed at was very clean. Paying at the property was a breeze. The hotel staffs are accommodating. We had asmooth check in and check out process. I would highly recommend this hotel for accessibility, cleanliness and value for money.

United StatesNo free coffee station anymore. Check-in is with a machine which wasn’t easy to use. But not complaining, just mentioning. Still has the vending machines down stairs and a new 7-11 next door.
Best location from Kesei Ueno Station. Easy access to Ginza and Hibiya subway line for getting around Tokyo. Best kept secret and now always booked.

ItalyThe Okachimachi Urban Hotel is a nice hotel extremely close to Okachimachi JR Station, and less than 15 minutes on foot from Ueno. The ground floor have coin washing machines and a drink vending machine, while the front desk and the dining area on the first floor (second floor according to Japanese floor numbering). The staff is extremely nice and helpful, and the rooms are spacious enough for two pieces of luggage to fit. The desk is ample and the bed soft and comfortable.

SwitzerlandThe rooms are truly tiny. I knew this upfront and it was OK for me since I was traveling alone and didn't spend much time in the room except for sleeping, but if you plan to spend more time in the room, be aware of this.
Amazing location - a few minutes walk from Akihabara and Ueno and several major metro stations. Everything was clean and well maintained. Washing machine and dryer are available if needed.

AustraliaTight space, just enough for one person. Bed is a little stiff. Elevator always stops on the third floor. A small amount of noise could be heard from inside the room (people outside, elevator dings), but acceptable and no need for earplugs.
Generally quiet, with plenty of amenities and a cute free rubber duck. Fantastic location, perfectly between the shopping and dining options in Ueno and Akihabara. Coin-operated washing machine and dryer. Too small to spend a day, but clean, neat and great for a place to crash while exploring Tokyo. Highly recommend as a budget option.

IndiaThe room could have been slightly bigger. It was difficult managing 3 suitcases.
The room was a little small but that is standard for all Tokyo business hotels I guess. The best part about this hotel is it's location, it has 7/11 and a huge Lawson right next to it and two metro stations at a 5-6 min walking distance that connect you to either the Ginza or Yamanote line. Room was clean and the staff was polite.
