Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandWe only got one key per room, a bit akward when you and your partner are at different places on this huge property. Very slow response to get eg a hair dryer (4 days), a lamp not working ( never fixed) , getting food at the Beach bar/restaurant - up to 90 minutes. I wish they had more ala carte restaurants, not mainly buffets, but the food is good. I would also advise that they change the menu at the Terrace restaurant. It is the same every day. No room serice ( food). Towelswere not always changed, even when you left them on the floor.
Diamonds Malindi is a beautiful property, with smiling, welcoming staff! Good food, many pools and places to sit down and relax and several small shops with good quality African items. Their tailor Esther makes beautiful dresses, wrap around trousers and much more. We were a group of 5 people, and had three rooms.

KenyaOn the night my friends and I came for dinner, we needed help getting a taxi, we met a lady at the reception called Sophia who coldly told us there were no taxis and that we could go to the gate and flag one down - she was not helpful at all. It was late at night and we had been assured that the reception would call us a taxi. It was also disappointing to be treated in such a manner yet we had been received and served well by the other staff. Tried calling an uber, but there is no uber service, so we just walked to the gate. At least the watchman was kind enough and offered to call a taxi for us.
I loved the place. It is very beautiful and comfy. The location by the beach is superb! I had actually planned to go to Watamu but someone recommended I have dinner at Diamonds first. After I visited for dinner, I immediately cancelled my Watamu trip and checked in the next day. The staff were very friendly - Dorcas at the reception received me so well and convinced me to move in, Pauline also made sure I was comfortable during the stay since I had travelled alone. The food was also good. The activities were also good, I enjoyed the Saturday dinner in the garden and the night dancing. The spa amazing! I experienced the hydrotherapy and thalasotheraphy at the pool - Hosea talked me through the benefits and ensured I enjoyed the treatment. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely visit again.

NetherlandsThe room was incredibly hot. It was really difficult to sleep. Despite we booked a room with airco there was no airco but merely a single ceiling ventilador that didn’t reach the beds. The offer of drinks for dinner was extremely scarce. As nonalcoholic we could choose only water, cola, Fanta and one single flavor juice.
Splendid pools, dinner and breakfast (except drinks) wet varied and tasty. Gardens, beach and sitting areas were wonderful. The room was very big with an incredible terrace. The gym was really good equipped.

United KingdomFound stains on curtain and on the bed at one point. Some parts of the room were not in the best condition. I had a lot of issues with noise due to the surge protectors for TV & fridge. Kept me up all night one day. There wasn’t a great choice of drinks and the dinner buffet.
Decent facilities. Rooms were a good size and so were the large double beds. Single beds weren’t the best but it worked. I liked the bathrooms. A lot of complimentary water provided in rooms & air con options were great. Breakfast choice was great

KenyaThe beach has a lot of harassment from vendors. There were a lot of insects (ants) in the bathroom. In general, staffs from restaurants are not so friendly. They made confusion with restaurants locations and prices. P.e. I have to get in and get out from 2 restaurants before find the right one for the VD dinner. Other ocasion when asked the staff about lunch buffet price, I had three different answeres (Ksh 3.500, 4.000 and 4.500). In the reception, the feeling I had was that because I purchased the package through booking.com, the benefits and treatment were different. I searched to buy a full or half board pck but it was not available. Afterwards we moved to another resort on Watamu beach with half board and it was perfect. Amazing beach and scenery.
Location is good The waitress (Miss Dorcas) was great during our Valentine's Day dinner. She is outstanding in customer service.

SwitzerlandAdd apples and orange juice to the breakfast.
The breakfast was nice and sumptuous. It was however lacking more diversity in the selection of fruits (e.g., apples and bananas) and there was no fresh juice on offer during the stay.

KenyaThe bed mattress was too hard for our liking and the electric sockets in our room were faulty to the extent of almost destroying our phone chargers. This was reported but no action taken. Further while booking on the app it shows Diamonds Malindi but we were given a room at Sandies Dream Garden (which we didn't mind as Sandies is beautiful as well).
The ambience of the resort was serene and the grounds well kept. The pools were fantastic and cleaned with chemicals that aren't harsh to the eyes or skin. All the food items were cooked perfectly and the menu selection was vast. The salads, especially, were to die for. The animation team also did a great job keeping guests entertained all day with water polo and beach volleyball activities. Service was great and the staff were friendly, accommodative and helpful.

KenyaThe bathroom floods when you shower. The pool bar staff were slow. I ordered a drink, asked after 20 minutes and was told they'd have to get it from another bar. This wasn't communicated until I asked. The check in was a bit slow considering we were travelling with a small baby. This wasn't put to consideration
The hotel was clean. The food was exceptional with very many options available. The staff were amazing to our family. I am especially grateful to Dorcas who ensured that our baby had something to eat that was similar to what she eats at home. The new chef from Sri Lanka was also superb, very friendly and also thorough with all his meals. Went from table to table asking clients how the food was. The beach bar was also a nice place to relax. The swimming pool by Sandies was the best of them all. The rooms were a decent size. We loved that they allowed for a late check out.

United States1. A lot of mosquitos, especially in the room. Need to spray the room in the evening before returning after dinner. 2. Crows flying onto open dining area, especially at breakfast time. Disrupts the meal.
Has the look and feel of a vacation resort with friendly staff and a good breakfast. We only had a B&B plan, so we didn't get to sample other meals except one evening. The meal was well prepared but the fish wasn't great.
