Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAbsolutely nothing.
I had a wonderful stay at Diani Yoga Barn. After 2 months of traveling in East Africa, I needed a retreat to rest and enjoy nature for a few days. My room was spacious and the bed comfortable. There is a large terrace upstairs with beautiful views of the surrounding forest where they give yoga, meditation and sound healing classes. I started the morning with yoga every day lead by one of the two owners alternately. As a vegan I didn’t have to go out to restaurants for breakfast or dinner because their food was freshly prepared, well balanced, reasonably priced and delicious. I walked to the pristine beach which is about 1 kilometer away. A lovely walk through well maintained dirt roads and lots of greenery surrounding huge mansions. I felt safe walking during the day but I didn’t go out at night. They are happy to arrange tuktuks or motorcycles if you prefer not to walk. The highlight for me was to play drums with the Kenyan owner who also provides tours in a comfortable car. He has created a cultural group of young men from his village who are training in drumming, singing, dancing, acrobatics, and yoga. It was great to see them at their daily practice in the afternoon, entertainment on site! They are welcoming and respectful of guests privacy but I strongly recommend you join in the fun. I was grateful that they don’t allow parties or alcoholic beverages to maintain their healing and relaxing concept. Follow them on Instagram for special retreats, and class schedules. I highly recommend the Yoga Barn for anyone who enjoys a relaxed, quiet, rustic, natural retreat run by two caring hosts.

SwedenThis place is absolutely amazing - the hosts, the staff, the food, the environment and the room! As a solo traveler it felt like such a safe and nurturing place where I felt so well taken care of. The place is located walking distance to the beach but if you want to go somewhere else they can arrange safe transportation for you for a great price! The stay is located at such a peaceful spot away from all the hustle among all the trees! All the food is cooked in the house and it’s really delicious. The rooms and the house is so clean with a calm ambiance! I did yoga with Kathrine and it was amazing, and I already wish to come back and stay for longer!!

We had an amazing stay at Diani Yoga Barn. The room, the location, the grounds, food and pool were all amazing. We joined in the yoga and meditation and felt so rejuvenated by the time we left. We loved how it was away from the busy beach, situated in a tranquil heaven. Beach is within a 10 min walk. Staff were all super lovely.

GermanyThe room has screens on all windows but no glass so the occasional bug or gecko made it in. Make sure you check the mosquito net before you go to sleep.
The house has very good energy and great views from the yoga terrace. I also enjoyed the pool and garden that surrounds it. The room is big and airy and the bathroom as well. If you are patient there is plenty of hot water and the best quality toilet paper we had on our entire trip;) The bed is also quite comfortable. But really you should be there for the wonderful yoga and meditation it will make you so grateful. The food is delicious and so healthy. You will be ready for adventure. We had a great private trip to Wasini Island at a really fair price compared to the offers on the beach or in town. The hosts take really good care of you.

GermanyI cannot tell anything i didnt like:)
The cottage is gorgeous and located in the middle of a jungle, just 7 minutes away from the beach. You can easily get there by walking. The room and especially the bathroom are very comfortable and big. The two hosts are yogalovers by heart and offer Yoga and meditation lessions in the morning or in the afternoon which take place at a huge terrasse on the property. If you prefer to relax at the Barn instead of visiting the amazing white powder beaches, you can spend your day at the pool which is as pleasant. There is breakfast in the morning including eggs, chapati, beans, sabji, coffee or tea and fruits- quite Indian which i liked a lot. In the evening you can order dinner which is as delicious as the breakfast and so worth the price (1500 KSH) compared to the over- charging beach clubs/ restaurants.

United KingdomThe host. She was a cool person. But she must learn that when I guest arrives feom a long road trip. They don't need the third degree or lecture or indoctrination into your lifestyle.
Oh, I were to start... Ok. The host Katherine/Catherine was really down to earth... OR SO I THOUGHT... The host. is a lonely old eastern European woman who literally does not stop talking at you the second you arrive. I arrived at the property after a long day of travelling on the road from the capital Nairobi. Over 550 kilometres in the heat of the day. (She could have considered that)... I introduced myself and immediately explained that I was extremely tired and just needed to rest. I was then told to sit and that things would be explained to me, and that's when I realised I had booked the wrong place to stay... It felt like I was checking into boot camp. I felt like I was receiving a lecture as a child. While the woman was welcoming, she started to try to convert me to her way of life from the get-go. She demands that you only take showers at either 12/1/2 or 3 pm after 3 pm is FORBIDDEN as she turns off the hotwater. She tells you the beach is 5 mins walks. But be very, very prepared for a 20 mins walk on dangerous paths filled with thugs waiting to rob you, or at very least, extrot you. The swimming pool is not maintained and full of bugs and bits of tree bark. The host also DEMANDS that you take part in her yoga, sound baths, and meditation classes, and demands u eat what she wants u to eat. DO NOT TAKE ALCOHOL HERE. She will judge your lifestyle if you're a MEAT EATER, you should avoid this place. you will be openly judged. Be expected to take part in all her yoga classes or be made to feel guilty if you respectfully. She said it was her husbands place, and after the experience i had. I truly pity him and her. The place and rooms are truly filthy dirty, and it's basically a cemented wall and some sticks attached to the structure. With some straww for the roof. It's very unstable when the wind blows. I considered it a HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZZARD.

GermanyWarm water in the shower was not available, but at 36 degrees (we were there in the dry season end of February) it is not really a necessity. As mentioned, WiFi was only avalable at times, we were told that this was due to a high profile visitor making a stopover in Diani, but I did not buy this really. However, Fikiri did what he could to get us online when needed. The second host of the house (a lady whose name I forgot) was not always in a happy mood, and made you feel not super-welcome when asking questions or raising some (small) complaints. Baboon monkeys drop by, even in your room, so this does not always feel nice. But Vishnu (the house dog) will do her best to chase them away within seconds.
After an overpriced shuttle from Mombasa train station (I don't recall really, but beyond 5.000 KES, you can get it for 2.000 KES negotiating a bit) we arrived at this most beautiful and remote place in the middle of the night, being warmly welcomed by one of the two main hosts, Fikiri. We spent 7 nights at this most peaceful resort, and I can only state it was worth every minute. Although my girlfriend did not like the room, which is open to the ceiling and therefore privacy is not really given at least sound-wise, we were lucky as the neighbors left and we had the place (with as I believe 4 rooms) for ourselves. So to get some intimacy was easier the next days :-) The hosts will do whatever you ask them for. The ayurvedic breakfast was wonderful, as were the yoga sessions we ran on the spacious top floor (we did however not partake in the lessons as this costs extra). WiFi was very shaky, but we did not care as the beach (15 min walk) does not let you care about getting online. It is one of the most amazing spots on this earth for sure (and I have visited 65+ countries...) and the sandbank a km offshore that can be reached by local boat carriers (don't pay more than 1.500 KES, 2.000 KES if you need snorkeling gear) will stick in your brain FOREVER!' I can also warmly recommend Safari Beach where we spent our days and some dinners, 500 KES per person entry (plus 300 KES for a sun lounger) that are balanced out with your bill later. A really peaceful spot, and the (very few) beach boys that populate the beach here will not disturb. The guards will take care of your belongings so you can simply relax. 200 KES by TukTuk from the yoga barn, or 20 minutes by foot. The next shopping center with nice restaurants is in 45 minutes walking or 300 KES TukTuk distance (30 minutes if you have long legs like myself), there's a money changer too. The (small) pool is perfect.

FranceThe location: it’s quite far from the main road. So unless you don’t mind a bit of trekking, it’d be a bit inconvenient if you don’t own a vehicle. Also there’s no sign leading to the barn, which misguided me and a couple drivers at night, despite having maps.
The relaxing vibe of the place. It’s good if you’re looking to unwind and enjoy nature. The pool is warm. There are also yoga classes but I didn’t get to participate.
